Is it News or Fluff?
I first wrote BlueTracker because I got tired of wading through all the noise on the official boards and I just wanted the blue posts. Since then, World of Warcraft has grown to over 10 million subscribers, and the community representatives at Blizzard have been asked to interact with them. This has resulted in a number of what I call "fluff" posts -- these posts are usually funny, lighthearted, or an annoucement of a ban. Sometimes I'm happy to read them, but other times I just want the important information. That's what I call "news" -- information about future patches, bug fixes, discussions about class balance, etc. I'm sure I'm not the only person that has this issue, so I've added a new feature to BlueTracker: everyone who reads a blue post on BlueTracker will be able to vote whether they think the thread is "News" or "Fluff" (or abstain if you aren't sure or don't care). The information will be collected on a nightly basis. You can vote once per day per thread. Votes will last for 30 days. (This allows posts such as patch 2.1 changes to be news while it's important, but then fade once the patch is long gone). Top news threads will be listed on their own page for easy reference, and if I get around to it, I'll add a "News" icon to the results pages for easy reference. Questions? Comments? Feel free to contact me. |
