Having higher level items before the expansion can make leveling easier.

I was really hoping the blue comment would be more along the lines of, "items will scale quicker than most think". Or something to that effect. For me I guess it wont be an issue...because my hodge-podge of PvP epics wont last me nearly as long as T4/T6 stuffs, and therefore I'll get new gear soon enough. And I'm happy for it. To me getting new gear is part of the fun.
Nice try, but I'm not going to spill any specific beans on this right now. The gear will be appropriate for the levels for sure and will allow players to level up in them if you need them.

So that really gets back to the OP's question; and my answer is:
Game is for fun. Gearing is part of that fun. Don't gear up if you think it's going to be a grind or dull. Find other ways to have fun. And if by doing so you get some good new gear, great.
