After internal testing by our QA department, we have found that the honor gained from honorable kills and bonus honor are receiving 30% reductions correctly as intended. The investigations lead us to believe there is no issue with calculations at this point in time, nor that players are getting a double reduction in their honor calculations. Players may have felt differently due to the fact that honor as seen during the day of accumulation is estimated honor and the actual honor amount is displayed the next day. Estimated honor doesn’t account for diminishing returns, which may have also added to the confusion.
We hope these details clarify any concerns that players may have with the new honor system, and we would be happy to field any further questions that come up.
Read that last sentence in the first paragraph...
Estimated honor doesn’t account for diminishing returns, which may have also added to the confusion.
So not only did they nerf BONUS honor and HONOR KILL honor, there's also diminishing returns on that honor kill honor. This explains why everyones claiming the math is wrong...
Just how much did they nerf honor?!
For the love of God, reverse this most unwanted change... It's obvious that your player base, the PAYING CUSTOMER does not approve of this change. Do you all really think you have enough money to go and piss off a good portion of 7 million people?

| | Diminishing returns have been a part of PvP for quite a while, I believe possibly a feature implemented with the battlegrounds themselves as they would factor in greatly to the honor system, which was implemented a patch before the battlegrounds. To my knowledge it was never stated diminishing returns were being removed or altered with the new honor system, nor should it have been.

Q u o t e: Yes however why is it needed when honor per kill is already nurfed to hell?
Say there's a Horde group and an Alliance group, they know each other somehow, or even don't they just sought each other out for this purpose.
They run through maybe a couple AV's until they get into a game with each other. The horde get to go first and they meet at an alliance graveyard, all of the alliance strip, and the horde get to kill them for, oh, let's say an hour. Then it's the alliance team's turn...

Q u o t e: how does this account for when someone went into a BG, waited for bonus honor(14), left, next day it said he had 10?
The one where he provided no proof and others have been documenting and unable recreate? We have yet to be able to account for it, explain it, or reproduce any such loss. From other players they have documented their gains, attempting the same test, and have seen no such reduction.
Now that bonus honor is added to the estimate, the honor gains being nerfed, with diminishing returns (which has always been a factor), and with this past weekend being a no-bonus weekend, it's likely that most honor gains are going to be scrutinized and seen as "lower than before".
