Subject: Please let us scale BWL/AQ40/Naxx in TBC.

I'm a raider. I like raiding, because I like my guild and the people in it. I also like doing smaller dungeons, they're a nice change of pace--I'm eagerly anticipating the expansion.

My guild is currently working on C'Thun, we consider ourselves "Casual Raiders," have a large roster so you aren't pressured to have 100% attendance, raid 4 nights a week, etc. As soon as the eyeball is down, we're going to start in Naxx, but with the high consumable requirement and sheer size of the instance, it's unlikely that we'll be anywhere near done by the time TBC launches.

Now, honestly, that doesn't bother me. Hell, I don't think I've EVER finished a real Gnomeregan or Uldaman run before--some dungeons don't get done.

But I could always go back and run through those now if I wanted the experience... but I digress.

So much work has gone into the current 40-mans of BWL/AQ40/Naxx (MC and Ony don't really count...). Especially in the latter two, there's ludicrous amounts of lore and story behind them, awesome music, and the dungeons themselves are wonderfully designed. Lots of effort went into those three dungeons, and it really shows. Fighting C'Thun is easily one of the coolest things I've ever done in this game.

So... TBC comes out. We start to level to 70. Lots of new 5/10 mans, which is great. We hit 70, and now the cycle begins anew with 5/10/25 man content. Fine with that.

What happens to BWL/AQ40/Naxx... hell, AQ20/ZG? Do they just get forgotten utterly? Does the product of so much time and effort on the part of the developers go to waste and get tossed by the wayside? Due to the massive loss of XP in raids, they won't become new levelling dungeons--and who the hell would bother to get 40 people together to do a levelling dungeon, anyway? You do 5mans, MAYBE 10mans to level.

And that really bothers me. Kel'Thuzad is a huge figure in the Warcraft storyline, but with the exception of the 2% who get to him before the expansion, no one will ever really get to see him or do epic battle against him? At 70, there'll be all new dungeons with loot easily eclipsing that of Naxx, and they'll be 25 man MAX (which while not necessarily easier to execute is a whole lot easier to start than a 40 man)... so why waste the time to get 40 people together and do a dungeon 10 levels below you when you could do those?

Let us scale them to level 70, Blizzard. Make them 25-mans, but give us the option (particularly AQ40 and Naxx, as those two have the most storyline significance and honestly the coolest boss battles).

Don't let all that work go to waste.

We don’t feel sorry for the instances, you shouldn’t either. The amount of people that have passed through them, the fun that’s been had; it’s all validation for the time and effort that went in to creating them.

You have to move on some time.

Naxxramas will still offer fun and some great items as people progress through the expansion. It’s going to become more accessible as everyone levels up and gets equipped a bit better than they may be now, and I imagine it will still see some use. We could always add or change something down the line that would bring people back to some of the current instances and make them more appealing to a level 70 player, but right now we’re focusing on making new content for the expansion.
