So when will Dragon's breath get the nerf bat? Seeing that Shadowfury, already on a 2 minutes cooldown, was changed to non-instant, I can only assume that 20 seconds on the instant-cast Dragon's Breath is a typo, and it has a 20 minutes cooldown instead?

Q u o t e:

Dragon's Breath
- worse effect (3 sec. disorient, breaks on damage, including dot ticks from fire spells)
- crits for 150% damage (about 1613) plus 40% ignite (about 645); ignite breaks disorient effect

So the question I think is: do the differences in radius, range, casting time, effect, damage, mana cost, and of course the way the two spells interact with the rest of their respective classes' abilities balance each other out, or is the 6x longer cooldown on Shadowfury also required to balance the spells?

Actually, DOT effects won't break the disorient on Dragon's Breath.

Q u o t e:

So are you saying it is a stun, not a disorient?

Disorients break on damage. At least every other one in the game does. Is this one different or is it not really a disorient?

It is technically a disorient, but the tooltip is being updated to explicitly state that it doesn't break on periodic damage.

To Tseric's credit, Dragon's Breath was breaking on dots, as until recently we hadn't gotten it working correctly yet.

Great for mages. Now, why is Shadowfury non-instant, with 6 times longer cooldown again?

Like War Stomp, shadowfury no longer has a global cooldown. So, while it looks like a nerf that it gained a .5 sec cast time, this allows you to shadowfury, and follow it up with something like a howl of terror.

Previously, it was instant cast but had the normal 1.5 sec global cooldown, which made it too difficult to successfully follow it up with another spell (you'd only have .5 sec before the stun wore off), and we weren't willing to make the stun duration longer (AE stuns are treated with the utmost caution).

Q u o t e:
Polymorph and Dragon's Breath are on the same Diminishing Returns timer just like Scatter Shot and Freeze Trap ;).

Not anymore (in both cases).
