Would it be possible, or even feasible, to implement a CD exchange program though Blizzard?
My reasoning is as follows:
This would mainly be targeted at the owners of some of the original game disc's; dating back over two years. When a customer has to reinstall the game, for whatever reason, and they have orignal discs, this means we then have to suffer a substantially large patch download after a very long install process. With the incomming release of BC and all the latest patches that have been released (each being around 140 or so megs), this download may easily go over a 600 meg filesize, or even larger. (The last time I completely reinstalled the game, 1.12), the entire patch file was 450 or so megs in size. Tack on two or three more major patches and theres another 200 or so megs, or more possibly to add on).
That is a lot to download, even on broadband. I am pretty sure that as patches come out, the new CD's being released from Blizzard are patched up to the most recent live patch at the time of CD production.
So, my idea is this:
An exchange program. A way to turn in your original or older game disc's for a more recent copy. I would go for it even if there was a small fee included.
Thoughts, ideas?

As far as I'm aware he expansion is designed to be able to take you from the World of Warcraft (original) retail version to the Burning Crusade retail version, which is probably why it's 4 CDs. There should be no need to patch in between installing the base game and expansion. We've got you covered.
