Subject: How do server queues work?

If i start a new character on a server will I be in the same waiting que as anyone else, or if you have had a char. on it longer will you get bumped up, or does a higher level get bumped up..etc. Thanks!

Also can you only join(move up a spot) when someone quits?

Thanks!

There is a predetermined amount of players set for the realms based on a design goal of approximately how many players are intended to be within a given 'game-world'. There are some concerns with realm stability factored in with having a concurrency-cap, but it's a side factor.

Once that cap is reached any additional players attempting to log in will be placed in a queue. Players entering into the queue aren't re-arranged by any factors, such as characters on that realm, level of those characters, etc.

The one exception being trial accounts. Players logging in on trial accounts will be given a lower priority and full retail accounts will always be moved ahead of trial accounts while in a login queue. Because of that, and also in our goals to spread out population evenly among realms, we recommend that you choose a realm with a lower population.
