| | Currently this is what happens:
30% less honor from everything
so say you get 1,000 honor in one day, you earned 1,000 but at 30% less you're getting 700 IN REALITY.
NOT ONLY THAT BUT
when honor calculates it takes off ANOTHER 30% so that 700 just became 490 honor.
that's right 51% HONOR DECRESE instead of 30%
so that 1,000 went to LESS THAN HALF of what you really got.
they need to change this.
if it was truly a 30% nerf like they said it will need a lower % off.
if the nerf was 15% it would go from 1000 honor to 850 and another 15% would make it 722. I really think to make honor fair and be true to their OWN WORD they should change it to be this way. who agrees with me?

| | At this point we can't say anything is broken. We are having QA look into the matter and will hopefully know more either today or monday.
We can not confirm that there is an occurance of a reduction being taken from regular honor and then again at bonus (additively) at this point in time.
This may be a case of people having the perception that this is occurring if only because they are looking for the inconsistency. This may also be a case of there actually being something wrong. Until we have more research to base our answer on, we can not give an answer. Sorry.

| | I'm going to post this again here rather than having people attempt to paraphrase what I said:
Q u o t e: I've posted on PvP threads before. Unfortunately I don't get to everything I want to throughout the day or have any specific answers that people are wanting to hear.
If it seems something is reactive rather than proactive, it's often because we're already thinking along the same lines as people on the forums and working on something internally. Then what happens is someone posts 'hey they should do x' not knowing that we are already planning 'x' and jumping through all the hoops we need to.
Of course, there are times when the PTR just isn't enough to give us the best view of how players are going to react to something.
What happened with honor wasn't JUST about the hardcore playing the battlegrounds night and day but about EVERYONE doing it. At that point you have to think, "Wow! It's awesome everyone wants to do this but it's just all going by way too fast." That's when we need to start making adjustments even when they are adjustments that might not make everyone happy. There are long term issues to take into account and we'd like people to have goals to make that aren't over too fast.
Have you ever bought a game that you just couldn't wait to play and heard so many good reviews about? Then you get it home and you start to play and realize that just four hours later you're done and there is nothing more to beat? What happens then? You stop playing it right? The games we tend to love the most are the ones we can keep playing and keep striving toward goals in. Mind you, they need to be attainable goals, and we've changed the honor system just for that reason. The rewards are that much more attainable to everyone now that there is no decay of honor. If someone wants to work toward an item over months or even take a year, they can and they don't have to worry that everything they did the month before is worthless. For those that want to get the items faster, that option is still there as well and we're not going to stop them from doing so.
Games are meant to be played for fun and part of that fun is being able to get a time value out of it. MMORPGs are meant to be played long term because it's what people expect. It's what also keeps guilds together and friends returning night after night to spend time with each other. We've been doing what we can to maintain a balance that no one will ever agree on between too much time and not enough time. Maybe some day we'll hit that 'perfect' number but with so many people and opinions, that day will be a long time coming.
I know that isn't saying "we'll put it all back the way you think you want it guys" but it is an answer for you. I realize some people will appreciate it, some will hate it and some will twist it into new meaning but it is what it is.

| | Just so no one thinks I'm off 'hiding', I have some hefty deadlines to meet today so I'm going to be a bit quiet on the forums and you may not see more 'blue' posts for a bit.

| | After internal testing by our QA department, we have found that the honor gained from honorable kills and bonus honor are receiving 30% reductions correctly as intended. The investigations lead us to believe there is no issue with calculations at this point in time, nor that players are getting a double reduction in their honor calculations. Players may have felt differently due to the fact that honor as seen during the day of accumulation is estimated honor and the actual honor amount is displayed the next day. Estimated honor doesn’t account for diminishing returns, which may have also added to the confusion.
We hope these details clarify any concerns that players may have with the new honor system, and we would be happy to field any further questions that come up.

Q u o t e: An update to my honor from yesterday. I logged in today and my honor kills for "yesterday" was 106 and estimated honor 872 with total honor 10581. Kind of funny that it showed some extra kills/honor considering that i logged in yesterday and my kills and estimated honor was set to 0. This "extra" honor i received is still not enough to replace what i lost, but still more than i had yesterday. I'd really like it if blizzard would come out and fully explain the new honor system. Blizzard has our account info, when we post in here about honor loss they can look at our accounts and try to figure out what happened and work to fix it. In a fair and perfect world blizzard would come on here and eplain where this missing honor goes, but also replace what went missing and fix the system so this would never happen again. Of course that's never going to happen. Blizzard doesn't want to admit to any mistakes they make if they are not forced to.
Just like the mostly useless lfg tool (which i consider still in alpha), being that blizzard is so busy getting the expansion out, they shouldn't have pushed this broken system out so soon since they are too busy to give the proper man hours to fix the problem.
You are getting the correct honor but there are display issues which are known (as posted in the sticky at the top of the forum) so aren't seeing the honor properly. We are still closely monitoring the system however for any other glitches in calculations so feedback from players is still appreciated.
