Talking to a friend of mine that has played other MMORPG's and he mentioned he was thinking of getting WoW since I talk about it all the time. I was mentioning that an expansion comes out next month and started wondering if someone that went out and bought TBC could install and start playing our would the installation of TBC require the old WoW? Thanks in advance.

As an expansion, the original game is required.
