I am just wondering if there is any reason that there are ONLY 3 different battlegrounds? In Warcraft III there are like 25 maps that you can play. With cross-realm battlegrounds it seems like having many different battleground maps would work fine. The new Eye of the Storm seems cool, but why not add 10 more maps? Just make people que up and get randomly assigned to different maps and make the reward tokens universal. Would make PVPing in BGs more fun since it wouldn't be the same thing over and over and over again.

As others have stated it would dilute the pool of players and spread them too thin over a large amount of battleground maps. In addition we want to ensure that each battleground is distinct and each offers a dynamic or style that is different than the others. In spreading players out it's more than likely that over time players would end up just picking a few battlegrounds to queue for anyway to keep queue times down.

It's definitely something that's been thought of. Just thinking about it personally though, I would imagine one or more of the variations would become the most popular and players may leave/afk in the others. It's difficult to anticipate how a large amount of players may react, and how the majority can be swayed in specific directions. In any case it's a cool idea still, and the variety would likely far outweigh any preference for certain battleground "skins", if you will, that players may gravitate towards. Who knows though, maybe everyone would continue to play and when you got the variation you liked you would be excited, like the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland when you get the path through the hall that's dark and purply with all the stars.
There are no current plans to offer variations for the battlegrounds though.
