Now I have one question... in the new battleground there appears to be a lot of... let's say swirling pits of DOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.

:P for example, look at the map and at this picture... http://worldofwarcraft.com/pvp/battlegrounds/eyeofthestorm/images/ss1.jpg
http://worldofwarcraft.com/pvp/battlegrounds/eyeofthestorm/images/ss4.jpg

now... i see some very large falls with almost no end. what happens if you jump off this? Actually, my real question would be what if a priest mind controls me and throws me clear over the edge. is it instant death? do i keep falling forever?

i already know that there are no flying mounts so that question is answered but I have not seen the answer to this question... thank you for enlightening me.

You would fall off and die (the same way as falling off the edge in the rest of Outland) and your corpse would be placed near the edge where you fell. Of course waiting for the graveyard resurrect would probably be the best choice for returning to life at that point.

The danger of falling off is definitely a very prominent one and should make it a pretty unique experience from the other battlegrounds.

So you would lose Durability for this?

You will from falling off the edge in Outland, but you won't while in the Eye of the Storm battleground.
