If you're getting the "Unable to Validate Game Version" error, you need to reinstall the PTR. Quick instructions follow. - On Windows, hit the Windows key and "F" at the same time, search for "WoWTest" and delete all the folders that show up.
- On OS X, get to /Applications/World of Warcraft and delete the WoWTest folder there.
- Go to http://test.worldofwarcraft.com/ptr/downloads/downloads.html and download the client. It's called "WoW-2.1.3.6898-to-0.2.2.7286-enUS-downloader".
- Make sure you save the downloader, don't run it from your web browser.
- Move the downloader to your World of Warcraft folder and run it from there. You will now be downloading an 80MB patch.
- If the installer doesn't run automatically, run the program "WoW-2.1.3.6898-to-0.2.2.7286-enUS-patch". You can search for it using the search tool to find it if you can't find it.

It seems mages were saving more money than originally intended. Any money saved will now be reduced by 10% and will break Frost Nova.

If you're getting this error it's because you didn't follow the installation instructions for the PTR in the first place. Now you get to go back and do it correctly.
If you still can not follow the instructions for installing the PTR then I would suggest playing on the live realms.

If you have installed Patch 2.2.0 in your main copy of WoW, you will be unable to install the PTR until they change the installer. Please check back for updates later.
