Please explain the rationale behind making pre-made groups fight pugs in bg? i really dont understand this one at all.

There's nothing "making" any group fight another currently, and that's because teams are matched based on a first come first serve basis. The matching system, on the contrary, will attempt to make evenly matched groups fight against eachother.

The matching system I mentioned is planned to go live with the expansion.

The honor system is changing to a point based system, where you can focus your time on gaining the rewards, or maybe participate casually as your do other things and spend the points when you have enough. The battlegrounds aren't currently planned to have any type of rank or ladder system associated with them once we move to the new honor system.
The arenas will be the place to go and participate in a competitive seasonal ladder for rewards that will rival the highest end PvE rewards, and eternal glory (or at least throughout the next season).
