Bah, Physics... who needs it anyway *apple falls on head*
Mod subject of this week

Did I hear someone whisper Random?

oApplication – A small addon by Haste which is designed to make it easier and faster to enchant temporary enchants on your weapons. Simply hold down <Alt> and mouse over the item you want to enchant one of your weapons with. Left mouse click, enchants the main-hand weapon, Right-Click enchants the off-hand.
    Link: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7037-oApplication.html

CastProgress 2 – Don't like statusbars or any form of moving bars. This addon shows cast time of you, your target, target-target, anyone in your party, anyone in your raid, in a text based format. Cast time remaining and spell being cast to be precise.
    Link: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info4173-CastProgress2.html

NeedToKnow - Allows you to monitor specific buffs and debuffs of your choosing as timer bars that always appear in a consistent place on your screen in a consistent color. It's especially useful for monitoring frequently used short-duration buffs and debuffs.
    Link: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info6675-NeedToKnow.html

SmartBuff - A buff addon to cast buffs ease and quickly. All classes are supported. Bind a key, scrollwheel or use the action button and it checks if you, a party/raid member, also hunter and warlock pets, needs your buff and cast it. Use the options menu to configure it you like, as example: buffs, raid subgroups, pets, etc. Run the mod when ever you wish, if nothing is buffed, there is no penalty or cool down.

PetList+ - More pets and companions than you can deal with logically? This addon gives the Companion Frame a new layout, leading to better ease of use. It is also very tiny, coming in at a miniscule 16KiB.

Learning Aid - For all those times when you've just leveled up, retalented, or learned a new trade skill and you've had to page through your spellbook looking for all those new icons. When you learn a new ability, a new rank of an existing ability or a mini-pet or mount, Learning Aid pops up a window with the new ability icon in it, ready to be dragged to your Action Bar.

Macro of this week

    Name: Pet Intervene
    Author: Cindey
    Macro:

    Q u o t e:

    /cast [help] [target=player] Intervene

Macro for your pet's intervene ability so that if you target a hostile (or no target at all) target it would intervene me and if I target a friendly target it would intervene the target.
Testimonials: “Thank you! It's just what I was looking for :)” Tom Smith
“Man, this macro is immense. It's just bafflingly simple and has all the qualities I too was looking for. Thanks <3” Ann Brown

Yes those names are fake if you don't understand the joke :<
UI News

State of Affairs with WoWAce – Copied from main site.
Today(15-10-2008) has marked the day where this page has been officially discontinued in favor of the newer systems that have recently been deployed.
While I know not everyone is happy over the changed we're going through and the current state of them I want everyone to know that what has happened has had to happen. I apologize that we didn't have enough time to get everything 100% right, but we're working as hard as we can across the board to make things right. It however is an uphill fight.

    For those who don't know....
A few months ago I posted a long forum post outlining the current state of WowAce and what had to be done to allow the services to continue. I talked to authors and users alike trying to come up with the best solutions possible. And now we're here.
It's been a glorious if bumpy ride. The success we've experienced on this page and the updater have been an amazing accident, and we weren't prepared for it.
A little over a year ago Curse.com started subsidizing our servers, and for a time that was enough to get us through the worst of it. But we just kept growing.
Things reached a critical mass during 2.4. We filled up the entirety of the 1 gigabit connection we where using and ended up pushing out more than 300GB an hour. With more than 500k users downloading updates for every small change things just couldn't keep up financially.
So that leads us to today.

    In Closing
We encourage all users who are looking for updates for their addons to head over to Curse.com and look around. If you're looking for Beta and or Alpha releases and are part of our testing community please join us on the new site.
If you're used to using WowAceUpdater or one of the other third party clients that used this page we encourage you to try out the new Curse Client. It's not as polished as we'd like and it will certainly receive a lot more work here in the new future.

The above text appeared this morning on files.wowace.com.
I do this with a heavy heart in many ways, but it has to be done, and not is all lost for there is much to be excited about as well. We have an exciting opportunity to reforge out past mistakes into something amazing. No it will not be pleasant, but yes we will succeed.
I'm constantly amazed by our community and I ask you all one simple question.
We're taking one step back so that we may take two steps forward, will you walk with me?
    ~Kaelten
Worth checking outDid You Know?

Log out now – Once again Credit goes to Klishu!
Blizzard appears to have plans to implement a "Log Out Now" feature (just like the exit one) since there are parts of the in-game interface code which hint at this. Unfortunately, the same piece of code puts down to delays in this new feature because it crashes the game. We'll have to have more patience for this then.
