Would it kill you guys to be a bit more responsive in the boards. I realize this is a place for flamers, idiots, ranters, and other MMO miscreants to just stew in eachothers juices and blow off some steam but we know you have the resources to respond a bit more than you do. I know the mods don't have the authority to make promises but we'd all be thrilled to hear from you about any number of issues. Sure, no matter what you say there would be 50 pages of vitriol but damn it would add so much to the enjoyment. People like the boards almost as much as the game, and you guys should really let us know why you make some of the changes you make. From our perspective they look almost designed just to cause arguements on the boards but deep down I like to think there is a reason for it all.
I've already canceled my acct, but I swear I wouldn't have if you guys showed a bit more effort in responding to your player base. I realize you have millions more where I came from, but you have obviously reached the point where you are willing to make major changes to classes. So whats to lose? A mod spends an extra hour or two a day talking to players, thats the kind of concept that would set WoW even futher apart from other MMO's.

I'm actually compiling feedback on Warrior concerns now. Overall, there are reasonable points made on both sides of the instant attack changes. However, the only way to distinguish hyperbole and selective judgement from fact is to monitor actual effects over a period of time, which is what I intend to do. Many warriors are reacting differently to the upcoming changes, but I still think our intentions were quite clearly stated on the matter.
Aside from that, just because there is not a flurry of blue posts here, does not mean that threads are not being read and concerns being addressed. At this time, its true, other classes are receiving more attention in terms of revision and slated changes. However, I am paying attention to the issue of instant attacks and some other points as well.

Q u o t e: Hey Tseric,
The problem is the majority of warriors still feel like they are being forced into one stereotypical build to be viable in PvP (31/20)
Few things imho that need to be changed.
1) 31 point protection talent to be changed so it is either effected by higher level shields to add more damage, or it becomes affected by Attack Power.
2) 31 point fury talent to be buffed. It's terrible sorry.
3) 3/4 of the protection tree isnt that good. Sorry but very few people go full protection. The same is true about fury. We are forced cookie cutter.
4) Thunderclap and Slam are terrible skills, and very rarely used in anything PvE or PvP. Their corresponding talents are just pathetic. But then so is improved sunder armour (we have lots of rage we are tanking) One hand weapon spec in protection tree is way to deep for the benefit.
5) And the big one, the massive one, is that quite simply we live and die by gear in the game. Unfortunately our epic sets have been greatly pounded away, and whilst I understand the reason the defense has been lowered, why is every single warrior, suddenly getting pieces of gear with defence on it?
Most warriors just want a set of epic gear that is viable for PvP. Sure piecemeal will most likely be still the way to go, but other classes (say rogues as an example) can often wear their entire epic Tier 1 set in PvP and be incredibly viable with it. Our Tier 1 and Tier 2 sets are completely based around letting 20-40 other people progress through the game, by keeping us alive and annoying mobs more. Not cool. :(
Over the course of WoW we have seen a number of problems with the warrior class. From a strong start in beta, the warrior was slowly hit by stealth and open changes. Things changed, and essentially at the start of WoW we were a class that people felt sorry for. The only reason people cry nerf now is that warriors have perfected the best damage dealing strat, and we now have the weapons to show people we are strong.
You never really fixed the class completely, the higher end gear just let us perform well. Everytime you nerf the gear, you alienate the entire warrior player base (or majority of)
We need someone to come in and look at the entire class, examine the gear we use and sit down and say is the warrior a one trick pony still? Or are they completely fixed. But know every time you continue to nerf skills, weapons and gear you do loose credibility and people start cancelling accounts.
Sev, that is a decent take on things. I am interested in protection spec viability, as well. I can't offer anything in the way of a definite time-frame, but I would like to talk about some of these concerns with the class designers. However, I want to make sure that this isn't an issue of wanting to be viable (read:win repeatedly) in any situation with any build. Something in me tells me that would dilute the talent trees overall. Warriors have a sort of foundational role in groups and a distinction between PvE warriors and PvP warriors may not be completely erased with talent adjustment. Regardless of that little itch, I will definitely keep notes on the protection build.
I don't think anyone wants warriors to be one-trick ponies. The instant attack changes deal, in part, with that. However, to provide a seamless transition from PvE to PvP for warriors of all builds may not be the only answer.
Lastly, higher-end gear obtainable through questing/soloing/small grouping is being looked into. It is known that there are players who simply are not available to participate in raids. For the more casual player of any class, we are providing content for them.
