The changes to Bloodthirst were done based on the feedback that the developers had been receiving from the Warrior community. When asked as to why they decided to change it, they said it was because many Warriors felt that Bloodthirst in its current condition was not as desirable when compared to Mortal Strike. We have been monitoring the feedback from players on the Public Test Realm, and most players that have tried the new version have been pleased with the way it works. They also made the change in order to bring further balance between the talent trees. Bloodthirst has the potential to be very powerful if used with a pure Fury build.
When asked if they had any suggestions for players trying out the new build, the developers offered up the following suggestions:
- Find equipment and enchantments that add to Attack Power. Bloodthirst now adds damage equal to 30% of your Attack Power, so boosting that stat is in your best interest.
- Try dual wielding weapons. Since the spell also adds health with the next five melee attacks after using the skill, having multiple attacks ups your chances of gaining that health.
We will continue monitoring the skill's use and impact as a whole, and should it prove less powerful in the long run we're prepared to make changes. In the meantime, please feel free to experiment with new weapons and armor. Also, try out the Fury talent tree if you haven't yet.
