Subject: Can dispel/purge be resisted?
I'm thinking in context of the new soul link which is an aura that can only be dispelled/purged from pet. If it can be resisted, felhunter seems like a good choice.

However I looked on thottbot and dispel=holy, while purge=nature. So I would presume purge could be resisted?

As far as I know dispel, purge and other buff-removal spells target the actual buff/effect, not the player/creature. As such, the creatures resistances do not come into play.

Q u o t e:
Well, maybe that mechanic needs to be changed, because it kinda sucks that a very narrow cross section of spells are unresistable in a game atmosphere where nearly *everything* can be resisted, no?

It's not that they are unresistable, it's just that different mechanics apply. Dispel and the like operate under the base resist%.
