Subject: To CMs, Devs and Whom it May Concern
We tried. We, Shamans, as a community really did try to help the Development and Class Design teams by providing feedback in the best way possible. We were relatively polite and calm, particularly in comparison to some of the other classes. We provided feedback when it was requested. We were told not to worry, that we were being listened to. We played by the rules.

And for it, we were given nothing.

The disconnect was not on our end. How many threads did we break trying to come up with suggestions for improving the class? How many iterations of Nert's threads did we go through? Wasn't it something like eight? Zifna went 50 pages just on totem mechanics.

Hundreds of suggestions over thousands of pages and not one major issue was addressed. Shamans were united as a class as never before on topics like Mana Tide, Enhancement not bringing anything to groups, Elemental not bringing anything to groups and the painfully low worth of totems in any sort of raid setting. These problems were spelled out in detail numerous times across myriad threads. None of them were so much as touched.

The most recent post by Eyonix has called, yet again, for patience from Shamans. We have been patient. We watched as Paladins were given Greater Blessings to address the difficulty of buffing in raids. We watched as we were bumped from 1.10 for priests. We were going to be bumped from 1.11 until the firestorm of protest hit the General forum. We waited since release for even basic things like the two-handed respec bug. We have waited and waited. We're tired of waiting. We're tired of being patient. We want to see faction-breaking problems addressed, and we'd like it now. The Alliance has put out feat after feat in regards to endgame content. An all-Priest Onyxia. A mass-Mage Ragnaros kill. A Hunter tanking Nefarian from start to finish. The Horde can't do these things. This is a problem.

I'm not one to be a doomsday prophet. As long as there's a Shaman class, there will likely be Shamans. However, the complete lack of satisfaction in this review will likely lead to many experienced Shamans abandoning the class in favor of a class that's more useful on raids or for classes where talents make a real difference.

We, for the most part, like being Shamans. We want to see Shamans viable. We want to see them wanted for groups, instead of being grudgingly accepted because nobody else was available. This is why we've offered so much feedback. This is why we're so upset and feel cheated. We want to be useful, and we want to be useful as Shamans, not as Druids or Priests or Warriors.

It is unlikely this post will make any grand difference in the scheme of things, but I feel like I had to say it.

Thank you.

I'll continue to forward (or compile) everything constructive discussed on these boards to the appropriate members of our design team. We're not completely satisfied with all of the changes made in the Shaman review (we seldom are with first iterations), and it's very likely that we'll be making additional changes in the near future. My last posts simply indicated that I don't think further change will occur before the next major patch goes live.

I'll discuss in greater detail the feedback that's been presented with the class designers in greater details, very soon.
