After reading over a thread about what exactly to name the noise that is made when one in stealth becomes "spotted" ( My vote on brmmmm :p), I began to wonder why exactly this sound is even in the game?
Is the point of stealth not to be silent? The how come you can hear the sound of a stealthed character passing by, yet not the footfalls of others not trying to mask their presence?
I petition that in order for someone to become aware ( in RL) of a rogue, they must actually notice the faded image of one cross their screen.
In other words, they must pay attention to what is going on around them , not finally waking when the 'BRRRRrrmmmm' blasts into their headset.
Hell, it is a mild buff to stealth, so lets have at it!

I think that would just be a tad bit too advantageous. I can see the possibility of the sound being changed purely for the difference in audial scenery, but unless the way stealth detection changed dramatically I don't foresee such a change being feasible.

I thought it best to reply to something somewhat benign so late at night as opposed to attacking a core issue. Much of the work we as CM's do that you don't see is information collection, and discussions over that information with the developers. Our replies shouldn't always be seen as a yard stick to the involvement or dedication to a specific issue.
Regarding any other issues (and the post linked to previously), we are well aware of many of the proposed concerns and issues. I don't believe anyone here has any intention of abandoning the rogue class, or writing it off as being "perfect".
