I like him.
I've had him since launch, and for a while, I kept him more or less even in level with my Druid. (My Druid is Horde; my Rogue is Alliance. Human, specifically.) My Druid was feral specced at the start, so it was interesting to have a level-by-level comparison of cat form to Rogue power.
As time went on, though, I focused more on my Druid for a while.
That changed when the Honor System began to ramp up. Desiring to play something a bit more hard-hitting (since my Druid had respecced to Restoration about this time), I levelled my Rogue to 50 and partied in Warsong Gulch for a long time, becoming one of the most dastardly flag defenders out there.
This recent return to the character has seen me in a bit of a lurch -- he doesn't have the best equipment, you see. So I'm experimenting with various methods as I level, trying out what I can. (Methods without Ambush, I might add, which is a mortal sin. :P I have no good dagger with which to stab.)
My current spec is Assassination/Subtlety, with -- you guessed it -- Imp. Sap, Cold Blood, and Preparation. It's fun and helpful in groups, but it remains to be seen how useful I'll be in the long run.
Besides testing the new changes, the fire underneath my bum is currently a bit of a wager between certain members of the Community Team on who can get their 50ish character to 60 first. I was 50 on Tuesday; I'm 55 now, and climbing all the time. It's a fresh challenge, a true test of game knowledge and powerlevelling dedication, and the style difference between myself (mostly solo, as a Rogue) and the others (grouping primarily) is showing interesting results. I'm currently in the lead.
I enjoy the relative power of the class when compared to my other high levels (Druid, Hunter, Shaman). I like the utility. We'll see how my perceptions change as time goes on.

Imp sap is there for group utility. I'm on a PvE realm.

A few clarifications:
1) I'm not surprised about the soloing power of Rogues. Not sure where you got that impression. I said it was interesting to see how we're progressing in this race with different playstyles. Also, keep in mind that my first character to 60 was a Druid who was Restoration specced after about 48 -- that's a HUGE difference in soloing power. Not surprised, just observing.
2) Yes, I'm on PvE. There are people out there who play on PvE realms, in case you weren't aware. I still PvP quite a bit on my Rogue -- who can resist? The class is one of the most enjoyable in PvP for a variety of reasons. Besides, Tyren has had a level 60 Rogue on a PvP realm for some time now. There's breadth in our experience, there.
3) I have tempered my responses constantly with "this is how I currently feel, but we'll see how it changes when I hit level 60." I want to make sure you understand this: there are two types of posts that blue can give:
a) Official stances and goals on various issues; and
b) Personal impressions.
When I'm talking about my Rogue, I'm giving my impression. Yes, I'm 55. Yes, I'm aware that things supposedly change at 60. Keep one very important thing in mind:
When I give feedback to the developers, I don't give my feedback as a player. I give your feedback.
What I'm saying to you earlier in this thread? This isn't what I tell developers when the subject of Rogue issues comes up. I tell them what you tell us. This is simple "Hey, I'm playing my Rogue, this is what I'm personally doing with it," talk. That's it. Don't read more into it than that.
