Subject: Drysc: Backstab to Assassination
The very nature of backstab, makes it belong in the assassination tree. The entire theme of the combat tree is about enhancing combat capabilities, and fighting, not about killing from behind with a dagger(assassinating), wheras something that inreases your attack speed definitely belongs to the combat tree(See: blade flurry)

Also, it still requires pvp dagger rogues to waste 8 points in the combat tree that we don't feel we should have to waste there, especially with pve dagger rogues getting what they wanted with opportunity.

Proposal? Swap improved slice and dice with improved backstab. It wouldn't change anything for the combat dagger rogues, they would still spec the same, and it would get us out of the combat tree if we don't want to be in it, except if we want imp gouge. This would free up a lot of points, and open the doors for more viable builds.

This change along would be enough to satisfy both the pvp rogues who prefer to use daggers, who could not reach the newer talents because of being restricted to three trees, and the combat dagger pve rogues who were made happy with the second glimpse at the review.

Thank you,

I've seen a lot of requests for movements and reductions to make that player's specific build better. We're pretty happy with the talent placements as they are in the most recent calculator though. There are always going to be swaps, or point reductions that will make a specific build better. There is a certain amount of balance that has to be kept of what can be achieved and keeping builds within a certain degree of choice, and not making 'the perfect build' which everyone would then almost be forced into.

That said, we're going to be continuing to evaluate the changes made as we go into the PTR. While we think the talent placements are looking pretty good right now, it's always subject to change.

We are building a forum of extraordinary magnitude.
