If the purple horse had been an option when I bought my epic I would have chosen it. There should be an option for us to trade in for the one we want regardless if the only thing that changed was the color.

This is indeed an issue that will be addressed in the future, but unfortunately the fix may not make it in to patch 1.4.0.
If it turns out that this will be fixed for the release of patch 1.4.0, I will update this thread.
My apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime, and my thanks for the bug report.
