Subject: 1.6 Test Patch - Known Issues List
   (Last Revision 6/29 6:00PDT: Now sticky, for your pleasure!)

Purpose: To list known issues on the 1.6 test server.

Guidelines (READ before replying):
  • Please read the list before providing new items so as to avoid repeats.
  • Please confirm what you are reporting as best you can before reporting.
  • If the status of an item changes (fixed on server), please let me know.
  • Please do not '/sign', 'fix <quoted bug>', or otherwise clutter the thread.

Note: This list doesn't have anything to do with whether something 'sucks' or not, but whether it's broken or has a demonstrable bug. If you don't *like* how something is implemented, I would suggest a separate thread--let's keep this one focused.

---

General

- People seem to be resisting stuff they should not be resisting, such as the dismount effect from daze, and buffs such as the Songflower Serenade buff. (Ziiv, Ulstan)

- Ranged weapon shots are still adding their weapon speed to the global cooldown timers, resulting in delays up to 4s. (Sanctus)

- Undead players unable to trade in old epic mounts (green) for new ones (purple). (Darkchani)

Note: Blizzard said 'future patch' at 1.5 but that doesn't mean 1.6. Still. Not exactly hard.

- Character's ranks are not being transferred over to the Test server; this means they cannot wear their PvP gear (as the lifetime rule is not active). (Warlorc)

- DOT spells interrupt mounting.

- Feared and frosted targets are not properly updating their positions to the client. This results in the server knowing the (true) position of a feared target, while the client sees an entirely different position. Once the CC effect ends, the enemy rubber-bands towards the player. This is obvious in duels; the pet follows the server position while the player is firing at something that doesn't exist. (many; since 1.5?)

- Client displays targets as closer than their actual positions; exacerbated by CC effects and speed boosts. (server lag-related?) (Ziiv)

- Human mounts went from 'no sound' to 'too much sound', with out of sync hoofbeats and possibly even lagging the client. (various, I noticed it on my Dreadsteed too...)

NPCs

- Meilosh in Timbermaw Hold is giving 'that bag is full' errors to people with inventory space and no UI mods. (Lothra)

Quests

- Any Reputation gains, classified as "Alliance", "Horde", or "Steamwheedle Cartel" do not give reputation gains past 50% Honored even though they show up in the combat log. (Tyral; see p2, post 1 for examples).

(Note: This has huge implications for people who try to improve cross-faction through quests.)

- BWL 'attunement': You can finish the quest, but because the Lair is locked out, clicking on the gate item actually freezes you and makes you unable to do anything.

PvP

- PvP items' rank requirements are still enforced by current rank instead of lifetime rank (or lifetime rank is bugged with char copy). (Usea)

Battlegrounds

- Battlemasters are not checking level restrictions, allowing low-level players to enter AV. (Marketa)

- Warlock pet spawning issues in AV (?) (My personal experience is fairly good with this, can't confirm. Seems random.)

- Ivus yells that he will summon treants, but either isn't supposed to summon them (so don't say so) or is (and doesn't, so make him). (Ulstan)

- Fixed? Alliance smith NPC in AV is non-elite and doesn't respawn; Horde smith NPC *is* elite and *does* respawn. This leads to quest turnin issues for Alliance. (Ulstan)

- Alterac Valley buffs disappear on stealth/unstealth/mount/shapeshift. (Alteracnofun, Ziiv, Ichi)

- Players can no longer loot released corpses at any range. (Ziiv)

- Hunter pets are not being revived with full happiness in BGs. (Mortarkai)

- Rogues can jump from the hillside to the roof of a/some tower(s) in BG, allowing them to burn it without aggroing guards. (Dagath)

Skills and Talents

- Talents that reduce cast times by less than 1 second are having their tooltip truncate decimal values, making it seem like the reduction is 0 seconds. Example: All 5 ranks of Bane show as 0 seconds; the first X ranks of other talents show 0 seconds until they show 1 second, so on. Actual cast times are not affected.

Hunters

- New Giantstalker's Epaulets graphics cause clipping problems with two-handed weapons (shaft clips with shoulders) and firing animations (face clips with shoulders) (Gunslinger)

Mages

- Frostbolts do not have their damage improved by Curse of Elements.

This is a long-standing bug, but it now needs to be addressed as Frostbolt's snare now suffers diminishing returns in addition to less damage.

- Related bug: Partial resists on Frostbolt = full resist instead of reduced damage. (Donnicton)

- Polymorph: Upon being sheeped a second time while already under the sheep effect, the target gains control of the sheep and can jump around. (Rampage)

- Presence of Mind: Triggers on base cast time rather than modified cast time. Mages who use Improved Arcane Explosion 5/5 lose their PoM. (Syphfa)

Priests

- Graphical - When mounted in Shadowform, the purple body overlay disappears, but the purple aura remains. On mounts, the transparency effect extends to your mount as well. (Lemonsnow, Kavista)

- Graphical - Holy Nova visual effect is not appearing, only the damage/healing values. (Maia)

- Vampiric Embrace only takes base spell damage into account when calculating amount healed. Damage added to shadow spells by items or talents don't seem to be in included in VE calculations. (Faraz)

Shamans

- Grounding Totem: Apparently absorbs DOT spells indefinitely without resetting the timer (SW:P, Mind flay, et cetera), unless the spell destroys the totem itself. (Adiamante)

Warlocks

- Phase Shift: The fix to imps that allows shifted imps to be targeted makes it so that warlocks can no longer Dark Pact or Demonic Sacrifice phased imps. Possibly also Blood Pact (unconfirmed).

- Master Demonologist: If the warlock's pet is Banished (or Dispelled), the Master Demonologist buff is lost, even after banishment ends. The pet must be resummoned in order to return the buff.

- Master Demonologist/Demonic ally buff: "Warlock pets never reach full life. I assume master demonologist or maybe demonic ally refreshes and makes the last 20hp of my pet fluctuate." (Marketa)

- Demonic Sacrifice: Voidwalker's sacrifice is dispellable as a magic effect; other pets' sacrifices are not. (Tiiz)

- Drain Soul/Shadowburn (I can't believe I forgot this): Soul shards are being created even when inventory is full, pushing items into overflow slots and causing them to be temporarily lost. (may be fixed; haven't confirmed yet)

- Curse of Agony: Does not break Stealth. May even remain on stealthed Rogues without damaging them. CoA bugs are well-do$&!ented in warlock forums. (Ziiv)

- Nightfall: Proc will be eaten if caster attempts to use it when the target is out of LOS/facing.

- Felheart Shoulders: Clipping issues and positioning problems, especially while mounted. (Rohmeroh)

- Doomguard Quest (Suppression): The Doomguard Commander interrupts the channeling far too easily--on taunts, distractions, or even damage through immune shields. The channeling also creates incredible aggro, which is possibly intentional but should then not break on hits, damaging or not. (Fixforums)

Warriors

- Bloodthirst: Rank 1 and Rank 4 appear in the spellbook simultaneously; Rank 4 has the same healing effect as Rank 1. (Darknight; unconfirmed)

- Disarm: Can be cancelled by the target by switching to a weapon with a chain/no-disarm effect, then switching back. (Zhenruk)

- Shield Block: Does not give an additional block with points in Imp. Shield Block 3/3; duration improvement and extra block do not show on the tooltip. (Arashi/Cody, see post 39 for screenshot)

- Deflection: Parry bonus is not applying to Fist weapons. (Kesillerre)

- Improved Hamstring talent points reset when you log off; all other talents remain spent (e.g. Mortal Strike). (Sanctus)

- Defensive Stance: The 10% reduction in damage dealt is being applied twice, once (to 90%) and then again (to 81%). This bug has existed since 1.5, but is apparently still on live servers. (various)

Racial Abilities

- Escape Artist: No longer removes the snare effect of Hamstring. (Daneth)

User Interface

- TAB-targetting seems to select corpses of just-killed players rather than next target. (Marketa)

- There are also reports that TAB-targetting is targetting friendly totems. (various)

- TAB-targetting frontal cone has been narrowed from approximately 90 degrees to approximately 60 degrees. (Sobbeh)

Items

- Lobotomizer AV reward does not proc. (Ziiv)

- Items, weapons, and armors with damage procs break Gouge immediately with their procs. Damage procs should go before CC effects. Some affected items are listed below: (many)

  • Blazefury Medallion
  • Volcanic armor set bonus
  • Black Menace
  • Fiery Weapon enchant


- Stronghold Gauntlets are not immune to the disarming effect of Riposte. (Beef)

- Wraith Scythe does not accept some Shaman weapon enhancements, resulting in 'internal errors'. (Tojikitoushi)

- Earthfury's 3-piece set bonus (Increased Totem Radius of 10 yds. to ally totems) is not working. (Tsalrioth)

Tradeskills

- Enchantments on epic 'converting' weapons (e.g. Anathema/Benediction) are still lost upon conversion. (Elle)
