Subject: Bug? Reckoning resets swing...
Reckoning (the paladin talent) appears to be resetting your weapon swing each time it activates, thus providing, on average, only 50% of a free swing each time you are crit.

The test is easy, using a 4.00 speed weapon fighting two 2.00 speed mobs (getting hit about once a second), the combat log will look like this:

You hit x
X hits you
X hits you
X hits you
X hits you
You hit x

If Reckoning truly provided a free swing, the log would look like this:

You hit x
X hits you
X crits you
You gain 1 attack through reckoning
You hit x
X hits you
X hits you
You hit x

However, the actual combat log looks like this:

You hit x
X hits you
X crits you
You gain 1 attack through reckoning
You hit x
X hits you
X hits you
X hits you
X hits you
You hit x

Because reck. resets the swing timer, 5 points in the talent provide only 1%-99% of a free swing, depending on when in the swing cycle you are crit.

Is this intentional? I surmise this problem came about a few patches ago when Thrash and Windfury were changed to reset the swing timer. But because those extra attacks occur instantly after your swing, no time is actually lost.

On the same note, is it intentional that extra attacks may only be stored when autoattack is off? Or that you lose all stored attacks if you change weapons or activate autoattack without being able to immediately swing?
