Subject: I did not come here to TEST the servers.
I came here to win a contest. I did not come here to TEST the servers. I do not care that blizzard needs to make changes to they're new patch and I don't care that they have chosen to put the contest on the test servers.

SERVERS that run CONTESTS (for prizes) should be up at all times (outside PRE-DESIGNATED outages). If Blizzard needs to take the servers down for some "unforeseen" reason, the outage should be CLEARLY COMUNICATED PRIOR to the outage, with CLEAR expectations on resolution.

To be COMPETATIVE you have to plan and strategize. Good players, plan they're time around they're schedules and GREAT players adjust they're schedules when APPROPRIATE. You cannot plan a strategy or schedule around inconsistency and negligence.

There are strict governmental guidelines on "CONTESTS" which ensure that COMPETITIONS that award prizes are run fairly and predictably. In my opinion Blizzard has not met these guidelines.

To all of you who childishly point your fingers at the original poster for "taking time off work": You are only showing how one dimensional and "lemming" like your thinking is. You don't know this poster's situation or what his circumstance is. You don't know if he has a flexible work schedule where he is ALLOWED to take time off (and made up another time) or perhaps he is a salaried employee who is not tied to the strict 9-5 hourly position that you may be stuck in. BEFORE YOU CHASTISE SOMEON BE SURE YOU KNOW THE FACTS. Perhaps your chastising speaks more to your own poor lifestyle than that of the original poster.

To all you carebears that say that this is just a "TEST" server and that Blizzard is working diligently to make our game better. Well I've been here since the 1st beta when you all said: "it's just beta, give them time to fix it." I was also here at the launch and you all said" "the lag and crashes are just because it's the launch, give them time to fix it." I was here through the entire first year +, and you all say "there are so many people playing, give them time to fix it." WELL WE HAVE "GIVEN THEM TIME TO FIX IT" but guess what WOW IS STILL THE LAGGIEST MMO OUT. WOW STILL HAS QUEs to LOGIN IN. BLIZZARD STILL DOES NOT PROPERLY COMMUNICATE TO ITS CUSTOMERS. Blizzard does not care about resolving these issues or they would at a minimum communicate a plan in an honest and up front dialog. Yet you all continue to blindly follow Bizz's silence and lack of resolution as if they were some god-like customer satisfying entity. I for one have not been satisfied that they are competently working on our side.

Blizzard will not change unless you (the customer) demand it! So stop being so passively complacent and make a statement!

"If you continue to follow, you will never know what it is like to lead."

Whooooo, now that that is out. Can we please get back to the CONTEST, I have a prize to win.

(sorry for the re-post but after replying to another post I felt this deserved its own thread)

Q u o t e:
"Be advised that both the contest and non-contest realms are all still test realms, and as such they are not supported by our GM or Technical Support teams. Furthermore, due to the various testing procedures we will be running, these realms will be subject to periods of unexpected, extended instability and downtime."

Indeed. They wanted to run patch 1.10 on the contest realms, that makes it a test realm. Subject to erratic test downtimes.
