I never stated that the talents would be announced today, or that it was even my goal to do so. I stated that I'd try and have the racial specific abilities unveiled today, and in-fact was able to post them yesterday - a day earlier than I had hoped.

The talents will be announced through the calculator, as soon as we've finalized all three trees.

Q u o t e:
By finalized you mean figure out where the darts landed on the dart board and then spend subsequent weeks of the 'finalized version' moving everything around until the crappy finalized version is implemented against protest?

Oh wait, I'm having 1.9 flashbacks.

Troll elsewhere, Pali.

Ever think of why he is upset, or are you content with making snide comments as a CM rep for Bliz?

He was trolling, which makes me a little less concerned with his "upset".

To answer your question, I'm content with my response, thanks for your concern, however.

the cool thing about facts is you don't have to agree with them for them to be true.

but anyway. when people say 'zomg' what does the z stand for?

The term 'zomg' is derived from the acronym, 'omg'. It's used all over the internet, beyond our forums, and most often times it's used to mock internet lingo in general. It's commonly believed to have originated as a result of over-zealous internet chat addicts accidentally pushing the shift key while typing 'OMG', pushing the 'Z' key in the process so that 'ZOMG' was spelled instead.

Guess it was catchy. ;)

The terrible truth that lies within this thread emanates throughout the forums in it's entirety. You never saw this kind of hostility on either end of any other class revies.

The fact that Eyo refers to the pali as his class and not just a troll is inherent to the problem.
Even in the warlock and warrior reviews do you not see the hostility that has been generated by the paladin "fix".

You would have thought that blizzard had gotten it right after the two successful changes for druids and hunters... but alas the paladin review simply showed that where your heart is, so there will be your time put forth to a good talent review.

Whoa, how long have you been reading these forums, friend? We never saw this kind of hostility on either end of any other class revise? Do you really believe this statement? I don't believe anything rivals the hostility expressed by the Warlock community when I began addressing their specific class concerns, early last year. The fact is, we've seen players react negatively to all manners of change, whether it was to their class, an item, or random mechanic. "Hostility" on these boards shouldn't be the basis for an argument to defend or oppose an aspect of game design.

Ever hear of the "black tabby"?

I referred to his class, not his name, you're correct. I really wouldn't read into this much, however, because it won't take you very far. I've quoted and referred to players by their class on numerous occasions. Paladins, Warlocks, Priests, Shaman, Druids, Rogues, Mages, Warriors, and Hunters alike.

Sometimes directly, sometimes indirectly.

The fact remains, someone trolled our message boards, and I made an appropriate response. Dissatisfaction of an aspect of our software doesn't grant a player the right to misbehave. I'm probably one of the most tolerant Community Managers in regards to disciplinary moderation, and prefer to correct behavior through messaging, rather than administrative action, at least, whenever possible.

We'll continue tweaking the Paladin until we're completely satisfied with the class, Coagine. We'll also work to communicate upcoming change, and continue to gather feedback. In the meantime, you should keep in mind that posts which build arguments off statements such as "Troll elsewhere, Pali", help you nil. I'd suggest visiting your forum, or the General Discussion boards and posting a well thought out analysis of what you believe will bring out improvements for your class.

If you choose not to because you don't believe we listen, then I can't help you.

Q u o t e:
@Eyonix - trolling is the act of posting something unproductive or completely random. By telling somebody to troll elsewhere you're effectively trolling yourself. Quit trolling n00b.

That paladin did have a great point. Paladins will start respecting the devs... when the devs start respecting Paladins. The Priest changes are great, and I'm excited for them, but being an @$%!@%& to a class that got primarily ignored for their changes and treated like dirt for their patch really isn't necessary, now is it?

We define trolling as making comments for the sole purpose of causing unrest on the forums, causing disturbances in forum threads, (such as picking fights, or making off-topic posts which ruin a thread), and posting unconstructively. Insulting players is also considered trolling.

"Quit trolling n00b", for instance.

It's not important how you define trolling, because it's our definition of trolling which you've agreed to before posting on our boards, Komako. The player in question attacked our design changes and process using sarcasm and insult in a thread dedicated to the discussion of priest specific change.

You may believe he had a great point. The fact is, I don't. Only one aspect of that statement is important considering only one of us is charged with the task of managing this community.

But I digress.

Instead of actioning the player according to our conduct policy, I warned him.

Attacking my methods of moderating and conducting myself on these forums, can and will result in the revocation of your posting privileges. If you have a concern with any aspect my function, please, by all means - wowcmfeedback@blizzard.com.

Q u o t e:
Wow, it must be nice for priests to actually have a devoted CM that includes himself as part of their community. Somebody who actually plays a priest regularly and understands their needs/wants/worries and can accurately relay that to the designers.

Unfortunately, 'Palis' never got that luxury. We've gone through multiple CMs who obviously don't know how to represent or listen to the Paladin community judging by the 1.9 changes, and then completely abandon us without word for weeks once the 'revamp' was finalized. And when we complain that we don't have adequate representation like the rest of the classes, we're greeted with the "CMs are not class specific" excuse.

Eyo's attitude in this thread in regards to Paladins, and the need to defend 'his' message board from them, pretty much sums up the extent of representation that CMs gave Paladins during the 1.9 shift, and are still giving them now.

Uh, no - sorry try again. By "our" I mean "Blizzard's" and by "message boards", (how to put this), I mean "message boards", which includes the Paladin forum. My attitude wasn't directed at Paladins, but those that troll. In this case, it happened to be a Paladin.

Unfortunately, I can't change that coincidence, I'm afraid.

so eyonix, why was the phrase "I know many paladins are unhappy with their review..." removed from your post? I know I was not the only one who saw that line, then it mysteriously disappeared.

That's quite the conspiracy theory you've created there. Sorry, but no I have not edited any of my posts concerning this subject. Just like you, when I edit a post, a message in red appears indicating such. Never have I made such a comment as what you suggest, which stands to reason that I've not attempted to "cover-up" such a comment. Stick to debating what's posted, because attacking some spurious message of my "grand Paladin counterplot" isn't going to gain you anything.

So let me see if I understand correctly...or at least how you claim I should understand it.

Okay, I'll help ya.

Q u o t e:
After you make a degrading generalization by using a word like 'Pali' when confronting a troll,

"Pali" is a degrading generalization? Did I enter a portal into an alternate reality? Should I be tasting sound, and smelling color???

Q u o t e:
you attempt to defend yourself in a follow-up post by saying that the 'Pali' trolled 'our' boards, which would imply that you're referring to the priest forum specifically since that was the only forum that was trolled that you felt required your involvement. But in actuality, you claim that you were instead refering to the blizzard message boards in general, even though the troll AND your response was directly relating to the priests, and NOT including yourself as one of the priest forum inhabitants defending your own kind.

I was referring to our message boards, and not specifically the priest forums. I've also used a similar line of messaging in other forums in the past, including realm forums. Realm forums in which I have no characters, nor reason to take ownership of the forum.

You're free to believe what you choose, I've made my point of clarification.

Q u o t e:
Right. Sounds like some great backpedling to me.

You'd likely make this comment no matter what line of messaging was put forth. Again, please feel free to report my gross usage of the word "pali" to wowcmfeedback@blizzard.com.
