Q u o t e: Greater Heal (and Heal starting from rank2) will receive a reduction to its casting time. Currently the spell is a 4 second cast. However, once patch 1.10 releases, the spell, from start to finish will cast in 3 seconds - (2.5 with talent improvement). This spell, along with the Druid's Healing Touch and the Shaman's Healing Wave will all receive an approximate 10% improvement to mana efficiency.
Now he has no reason what so ever to say "from start to finish will cast in 3 seconds" if this spell was not going to be a channelled spell now. Discuss.
[edit] Eyonix crits you for 4590. You die.
[Further edit] If it's not channeled could you explain at least "why" you said it in that manner, and not just, it's a 3 second cast?
Q u o t e: Holy Fire will no longer be a talent required ability. All priests, upon reaching the appropriate level will receive this spell as a core ability. In addition, this spell's casting time has been reduced from 4 seconds to 3.5. The appropriate talent improvement would bring this spell to a 3 second cast. This spell will also be considered holy damage, meaning, effects which improve holy damage will increase the damage of this spell.
Kinda neat. Discuss.
Q u o t e: Inner Fire is another core ability we're reworking. With the prevalence of wand-use amongst casters, we're not very pleased with the increase of attack power this spell provides and are looking to change Inner Fire so that it is more in line with the original concept behind the ability, i.e. a defensive/soloing spell.
Looking like a armor buff + wanding damage increase, maybe offensive spell damage increase. Discuss.
Q u o t e: Power Word: Shield is still undergoing testing. Basically, we're running the numbers of the final spell ranks and will likely make changes to its damage mitigation scaling.
Yay. Discuss.
Q u o t e: Talents are where we're making the most significant changes, however, until the changes have been finalized there is little I'm going to be able to reveal. What I will state is that we're reorganizing and streamlining all three trees, with a particular emphasis on Holy and Discipline. Each tree will have anywhere from 1 to 4 brand new talents available. The focus of Holy will be in providing throughput improvement, such as offering benefits to healing and spell damage. Discipline will focus on staying-power, such as what you see from abilities that improve mana and mana regeneration. Shadow of course, will focus primarily on damage.
Sounds promising, shoulda been like this from the get go, bout time, thank you devs! Discuss.
Q u o t e: Priest class racial improvements are for the most part, complete yet undergoing testing. Until all of them are ready to be unveiled, I'm going to avoid providing specifics. I will try very hard to push out concrete details late next week, if possible.
Now when he says improvements, I'm assuming that nobody is getting nerfed (dwarves) but everyone else is getting improvements. Discuss.
Q u o t e: A number of minor improvements and tweaks continue to be made as well, such as the increase we're making to Prayer of Fortitude's range and radius, the overall reduction to Smite's mana cost, the addition of group buff versions for Divine Spirit and Shadow Protection, and much more. In addition, I can promise that I'll push for the talents to go live on the talent calculator the moment that they've been finalized, which hopefully won't be long now.
PoF enhancements are welcomed =) How about reduced mana cost on this one? Smite might be worth it soon. Divine prayer ftw. No more sighs due to tells from the guild leader, shadow buff the raid plz. 2 seconds, done. YES. Hopefully we are getting alot more "group" effects. Talents preview inc.. Discuss.

Greater Heal will not be a channeled spell.

Q u o t e: Dev speak translation:
"Kiss fear ward goodbye dwarves. Now everyone can get it giving absolutely ZERO reason to roll anything other than horde for both PvE AND PvP. (But we're too scared to say it until the patch is ready to go live because we're too timid to go through a week long **** storm.)"
That about sums it up.
Eyonix speak translation:
I like to discuss matters I know little about and troll the priest boards!
The fact is, Rimshot - we have no plans to remove Fear Ward from the dwarves. Speculate until you're blue in the face, but the fact is your assumptions are incorrect.

Q u o t e: based on his post all of the trees will be taking the same direction. this is a problem for many reasons
I realy want to see something for discipline besides mana usage. here are some points i need to make
1. splitting our healing and mana talents is just stupid. it enshures that we will never have all of the best talents for healing.
2. evrn if we do try to get the best healing talents for the sake of our guild, we will miss out on the on the shadow tree. giving us very little options.
3. in pvp, priests are the tank. we are the easyest to take down. this should not be so as we are target #1.
4. with so much attention in pvp. we need a tree to combat this. make discipline able to help us survive. either by means of crowd control, or shear durability. (battle sage, or monk)
please take a hard look at the reflection tree. mana and +healing are both talents required by a healer. putting these talents into one tree allows druids to be much more versatile in theit talent builds.
p.s. almost no priest wants damage in holy
You read into my statements, Zenjamin. I merely outlined the general focus for each tree. Each of the 27 talent trees have a general focus. Please wait to pass judgment on the upcoming priest talents until they've been unveiled.
