I'm sure that this has been asked a thousand times but I frequent the forum often and I don't think I've seen a clear cut reply regarding your feelings and the holy tree. I'm hoping by forming a respectful, well thought out post I could get some form of response that would shed some light on the future plans (if any) for the holy line.
#1 - Are there any plans to increase the damage of holy fire? A 4 second cast that rarely breaks 500 damage is a bit difficult for us holy priests to swallow. Getting a 4 second cast off is almost an impossibility with all the current methods of spell interruption and on the rare occasion those of us with the spell get it off the damage by no means reflects the casting time.
#2 - Are there any serious changes planned in the future for the holy line to make us holy priests more offensively capable? I understand that we're 'healers' but our healing output in a pvp situation is almost on par with both our hybrid counterparts with them both sharing very short casting time heals with great efficientcy.
#3 - Do you personally feel the holy tree deserves attention, I know you are a shadow priest but I'm sure someone with your backround would have at the least tested out a disc/holy spec as to better report the feelings of us disc/holy priests. I could be wrong in that assumption (hopefully I'm not) but it's clear the the vast majority of us are very eager to see some positive changes brought to the holy tree.

Vivo,
#1 - I have not heard of any plans to increase the damage of Holy Fire. Holy specced Priests are focussed on healing, so their damage is not going to be as much as a Shadows specced Priest. I tend to only use Holy Fire as a pulling spell myself.
#2 - The talent trees of all classes are being looked at, and as soon as it is the Priest's turn in the spotlight I will post again letting you know.
#3 - Personally, I think Priests are an effective class if they are played correctly, no matter what tree you choose. I group up with a Holy Priest for raids, and the two of us work well together. I would not choose the Holy tree for people who wish to solo with their Priest.
#4 - It was awesome, I had a lot of fun!

I personally would not choose the Holy tree to solo with. I tried that path, and it was too slow for my play style. I know plenty of other Priests who stuck with Holy from level 10 and they did fine.
My Priest is Shadow specced and I do fine on raids, even if I am the main healer. I do not think it is mandatory to re-spec to Holy once you hit 60. If your guild or group requires you to do so, ask them to give you a chance with your current setup to see how you do.
