Subject: Blizz: Three SIMPLE Fixes = Done with Pally
   Blizzard,

Here are three fixes to the paladin class that would make the class more enjoyable and balanced.

1. Damage - Change SoC to be a Strike
First, this is *not* a request for more DPS. In fact, revert Seal of Command to 5 times per minute instead of 7; however, also revert the damage back to 100% instead of 70%. This is the same damage as 1.8. The change is instead of proc'ing 5 times per minute, it should be a strike on a 12 second cooldown (12 seconds = 5 times per minute). This idea is the same damage with interactivity -- exactly what the class needs.

2. Tanking - Paladins need a Taunt
There's no way around this. Warriors have multiple taunts. Druids have multiple taunts. The paladin needs >one< single-target taunt ability. The biggest argument against this is it will threaten warriors; however, druids have multiple taunts, higher armor than warriors/paladins, and can heal; yet they do not threaten warriors.

Admittedly, skilled groups can work with a paladin tank; however, most players have become realiant on a snap aggro ability and can't function unless the tank can taunt.

3. Healing - Instant Cast Heal over Time
Paladins are great at healing a single target; however, we have no way of healing multiple people quickly. An instant cast HoT would allow paladins to cover multiple people in PvE while maintaining the status quo for PvP healing.

These three changes would improve the class enormously.

On a side note, replace "Turn Undead" and "Sense Undead" with spells that are viable in PvP as well as PvE. This is gravy compared to the other changes, but I might as well ask. ;-)

First, thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback. Moving right in to address some of the specifics of your comments, I'd like to begin by stating that we actually had a Holy Strike during beta and currently have no intention of returning to those times.

As far as the Paladin having a taunt ability, we're just not convinced that a tank is required to have the warrior "Taunt" ability in order to be a tank. We're striving for something different, but still very effective. If players have suggestions along those lines that's what I'd be interested to hear.

All three suggestions are simple, effective, but do over compensate. It's a very fine line between where we are now with the Paladin and where they were in Beta where they were too good in too many areas. Proposals to add a Taunt or a Strike to the Paladin just aren't very constructive at this point.

We've heard these ideas many times and don't want to cut and paste other class abilities. Continue providing your feedback though, we're definitely getting somewhere.

Fair enough. :)

While you're in this thread, Eyonix, can you respond to whether or not Holy Shock will have both damage and healing aspects affected by Divine Favor/Illumination?

Edit: Even if the response is "We aren't sure yet," I'd still like to hear it! :D

Next patch if you use Divine Favor, then Holy Shock it will crit. It will crit if used for damage or for healing. If it's used for healing, the mana cost of Holy Shock will be refunded.
