Subject: So Cay any plans on showing feedback to devs
Because theres loads of it floating around on the Paladin forums, has been for a year...

I've said this many a time, but I'll repeat it for your benefit.

The developers have seen the feedback.

They've read it. They know where you stand. But they don't necessarily agree with your ideas of where to take the class. They are making changes to the game based on the big picture and the long view. Class balance is a very precarious thing -- particularly with a class that is only available to one side. They've heard what you have to say, but they are allowed to disagree.

Q u o t e:
Have they heard what we have to say? I don't think so. How are you supposed to convey information accurately when you don't even play the class, let alone any other CM. Obviously being a Druid helped the Druid Review immensely, as you can see the comparisons.

So where do the Dev's want to take the class? More Auto-attacking ftw? More spam healing as a cleric rather than meleeing like your class descriptions so preciously infer. Worse than fangtooth, atleast he had an excuse...he was a Murloc.

They read these forums, and there are level 60 Paladins -- legitimately levelled and geared -- on the development team, so yes, they do understand precisely what you're saying, thank you. :P

For myself, I am not, in fact, an idiot, and I understand the fundamentals of the class. In addition, I have a level 60 raiding and PvPing character on the Alliance, and many Paladin confidantes that explain their woes to me. I see it first hand. I know where you're coming from. I sympathize. And I use that knowledge to pass on what you say. They are not, however, obligated to agree with your feedback.

Q u o t e:
You are just mentioning blizzard employees play pallies or the devs too?

if so i don't think the janitor at blizz HQ counts as important part of the development stage. Although his services are great and should never be understimated i don't think his feedback or experience transcends to the dev ranks.

I said "development team" -- that means developers. Please, if you're going to jump to conclusions or make assumptions on what I've posted, at least read the post first.

Q u o t e:
I've been asking for this a lot, but since you're reading this thread, I'll ask again. Cay, is there any chance at all the devs will share their vision with us? The root of the unrest comes from the players not understanding where the devs are coming from. Many of us don't feel that the class reflects the shared vision we've been allowed to see, through the blurbs on the website and in the game manual. If we at least knew what was the philosophy that drove the review, we might be happier people.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no plans to give such a thing, as the developers dislike telling players -- or even inferring, as my one post tended to do, unfortunately -- how to play the game. I apologize. I will continue to try to get philosophy for you, but I do not believe you will be seeing an overall treatise on the Paladin class.

Just for a little bit of clarification. Cay, you in fact do not see it first hand. You see it second hand and third hand. I do not wish to anger you, I just felt that this should be pointed out. The problem many people have with the cms (even though i'm sure you are trying) and even people (term used loosely) like ellia, is that no matter how much you know about a class (once again, It is well known that to publicly state a lack of personal knowledge, which is understandable given your busy schedule), you do not know what it is to be a paladin. You may know what it is LIKE to be a paladin, but that isn't the same thing.

Like I said, this is not meant to flame, I just felt the need to point this out.

edit: didn't flow correctly

Actually, I experience it third hand. I see it first hand. :P The verb choice is just as important in such phrases.

There is no CM that has a level 60 Paladin; however, I am one of the most active level 60 Alliance endgame CMs on the team. Of your choices, I'm not a bad one. ;)
