ok, so today you made a comment about using POM and Pyroblast that was defiantly the equivalent of poping enrage on the mage fourms.
Often you have really well thought out posts on how the mechanics of this game work, but all to often you come across as an apologist for the devs.
Nobody asked you to defend the things that suck in this game. So why do you feel the need. I really do feel that you would build a better rapore with both warriors and mages if you would sometimes come back to the forums and go "ok, it sucks i know, but the devs have devicded it is staying." Instead of trying to come up with an excuse just say "its a no go, what else you got?"
As for my fellow posters, I think we can all understand that the CM's have had remarkably little influence on the class reviews. The only one that people have been really happy with was the priest one and that seems to me to be mostly because of how excited Eyonix was about it. If Eyonix had not used so many exclamation points in that first changes post I think the priest review would have been recieved in a much less warm fashion.

Pardon me, but I've done it both ways and the results, on this particular forum anyway, tend not to deviate much. It actually works out better on the warrior forums.
I made a comment about situational usage of the spell and how to improve it. What the response was, was that elementalists want it to be useful in more situations than it is. They want it turned into another fireball. They want a single talent point to translate into a spell that will have high damage potential and versatility for situations. They want more and cheap ways of dealing damage.
I'm sorry, but neither I, nor the devs, see a single point pre-requisite as the excessive burden people are making it out to be. Nor is it seen as "completely useless" as is so often the first label applied for something that doesn't measure up to core spells. It's situational. Others have found the situation to use it in. That situation is not all situations, or even most situations.
Well, I'll tell you now, if that's what you want. It's not going to happen.
I have spent more time and effort in this class forum than in any other class forum. Period. In that time, I have learned an important thing about dealing with players. Negativity grows quickly the moment my back is turned. It is ridiculous for me to expect calm on this board to extend past 10 hours without constant reaffirmation or reply. It is simply impossible for me to provide that. I like to sleep. I like having a day or two off on the weekend. I also have to attend to more than your concerns. Much more. Often, this keeps me away from a particular board for any number of days.
It is unfortunate and fallacious that people would construe that as "the review is over" or "this just proves my point that Blizz doesn't care". When it comes down to it, I may never overturn the attitude that mages are the most trod-upon and pathetic class in the game of WoW. There is too much collective weight behind that belief. Too many want to wallow in their own misery.
Y'know what? I might as well come out and say it.
If you aren't having fun in this class, maybe you are better suited for another one. However, I don't think there is any way for you to convince me that this class will become obsolete because of some hypothetical mass-exodus. The class provides a lot to the game and it bothers me that players simplistically reduce themselves to the role of water vendor.

Q u o t e: However, I think I might understand the origin of these complaints. I guess it has something to do with the idea that people want blastwave primarily for PvP, and they feel gipped if they have to sink a point in a talent that is not very useful for PvP without PoM. I dunno if I neccesarily agree with that or not, but I think that might be what is behind all of these complaints... or not, I don't know.
I don't disagree that without PoM, pyroblast does not have great usage in PvP. Point being, it is a slight inconvenience as a pre-requisite for an elementalist PvP build, not a 12 page litany of how I don't understand the class in any way, shape or form.
