Okay.
+hit% decreases the chance that a target will resist my attack.
-resistance, however, I don not understand. So, if a target has 20 frost resistance, and I've got -20 to target resistanes on my gear, that puts the target at 0 frost resistance, thus decreasing the chance that they'll resist my frostbolt. Doesn't that, then, sorta make both attributes the same?
Could someone please clarify the purpose and the effects of minus target resistance attributes on gear?
Thanks in advance.
Lag-erific!

+hit deals with full resists. Every spell has a natural 4% resist chance, which would translate into a full resist.
Resistance stats, as they deal with schools of magic (frost, shadow, etc.), appear as partial resistances.
If you had a lot of +hit gear, a creature could still partially resist damage if they had the proper resistance and even if you were hitting them 100% of the time.[ post edited by Tseric ]
