								Has anyone tested this?

Here is what I've found so far.

I have 260 int and 7% crit gear. My frost bolts against PvE are always ~11.4% against mobs in MC. I mean we are talk even after 1000 shots.

What does this mean? if I subtract the gear, my 260 int gives me 4.4 crit. If it were 100 per 1%, it should only give me 2.6. The only way I can possible explain this is that the base crit chance is 2%.

Does any one know for sure?

The basic mechanic of INT to Crit% is an increase of 1% every 59.5 points for mages. A mage is generally expected to have around 286 points of INT at 60. This works out to about 5% crit on average for mages. It is possible to go higher, as Crit% does go up incrementally.

EDIT- The increase of 1%crit for 59.5 is for everyone, not just mages. However, mages tend to have more INT, thus my phrasing.[ post edited by Tseric ]
