Hiya - I use custom sounds a lot to augment my poor vision (my TTS mod uses a library of spoken words in .wav format) and PlaySoundFile() no longer seems to be available.
Was this intentional? If so, is there anyway to get this functionality back?

No, this wasn't intentional, and will be fixed in 1.11.1.

Q u o t e: It wasn't fixed for Mac users :(
It's fixed now (for patch 12). It was a simple oversight in the code; there are separate paths in the OS X sound engine for loading WAV files (sound effects) and for MP3 files such as the background music. The former path was updated to allow file loading outside of MPQ's in 1.11.2, the latter one was not, with the effects as described.
In testing the fix, I discovered that the title screen is even more awe inspiring when powered by a Prodigy tune.
Thanks for bringing our attention to this.
