To Slouken, Blizzard and to the devellopement team.
This my 4th post on the subject. And still no official answer. I need one please.
This will be my last post. I'll probably be ignored one more. At that point, I care no longer. If I can't solve this issue I'll cancel my accounts.
To summaryse.
In 1.10 Addons and macros may not call or hook functions that initiate movement.
/script Jump().
/script MoveBackwardStart.
/script MoveBackwardStop.
/script MoveForwardStart.
/script MoveForwardStop.
/script RunBinding("MOVEFORWARD")
/script RunBinding("MOVEBACKWARD")
/script RunBinding(JUMP")
Will no longer work.
I have an handicap, I'm disabled.
I can use only one arm and I can move only four of my fingers, and not without some difficulty. I can only play the game with a [g]special 2 buttons only mouse designed for my hand[/g].
And you probably aware that click-to-move isn't efficient enough if you want to move for long distance or move the camera while runing. Not to mention walking bacward. Or jump while runing.
I had to use that four little macro/script to be able to move in-game. With then I was able to move forward/backard while turning the camera, I was able to jump while moving forward/backard and I was able to use all the interface while moving forward/backard.
In fact the way I used it was quite simple. Here's an example.
/script Jump().
/script MoveBackwardStart.
/script MoveBackwardStop.
/script MoveForwardStart.
/script MoveForwardStop.
Helped me to move.
For example: When I go to Blackrock, UBRS. I Click on my macro RUNF, who activate the script /script MoveForwardStart. Then I start to run ,I autorun in fact. While I autorun I can use my mouse to turn right/left or to move my camera around while runing. Ok, now I had arrived to the big chain, I climb it, I turn right and when I'm a few inch from the balcony who lead to the Instance I click my macro JUMP, who activate /script Jump(). At last to stop my autorun I click on my macro RUNS who activate /script MoveForwardStop.
I had also two macros who do exactly the same as RUNF and RUNS for moving backward. BACK and BACS.
With the 1.10 change, I will no longer be able to move at all in the game. Wich mean I will no longer be able to play World of Warcraft.
I know, I'm only one person and World of Warcraft was designed for a lot of persons. But with 5 millions of players, I'm probably not the only one disabled person playing this wonderfull game.
Slouken can you just answer me please, is there a solution to this little problem. Or I'm done. Just let me know. Or is there any legal issue that forbid you to answer?
Thanks.
Ho! Ho! What?

We're looking at putting together a little movement pad that you can click on in-game to move, but it's not something that will be ready for 1.10.
Edit: If you post your e-mail address, I'll send it to you when it's ready.[ post edited by slouken ]

You may also be able to use one of the mouselook addons, which will still work once 1.10 goes live. Simply use one that allows you to bind button 1 to move forward toggle, and button 2 to move backward toggle, and then while one is active, maps the other one to jump. This may actually be easier for you to use than a movement pad on screen.
If you do actually need a movement pad on screen, post your e-mail address, I'll send it to you when it's ready.[ post edited by slouken ]

Okay, here it is:
http://www.devolution.com/~slouken/tmp/MovePad.zip
It should work in 1.9, and should work on 1.10 after the next test realm update.
Please let me know how it goes!
This is not an official Blizzard addon, and has absolutely no support. :)

Q u o t e: Ok, I just tested it on the test server, build 5162, and it works very well. Very nice stuff :)
Great! :)
Q u o t e:
I was just wondering if there's a way to make it clickable by both mouse buttons?
Yep, done:

Q u o t e: Slouken, I am naming my firstborn child after you.
Oh, don't do that, that's a terrible name! :)
Q u o t e:
(Are you the same slouken who did splitvt?)
Yep! :)

Q u o t e:
Wouldn't a 3x3 pad be about perfect?
<left> <forward> <right>
<strafe left> <jump> <strafe right>
<circle left> <back> <circle right>
I actually tried that, but I found that the turn rate was too fast, and I didn't have very precise control while turning. Having strafing next to the forward button turned out to be much more convenient when combined with mouse look.
