Hi, I wanted clarification on what differentiates a custom UI from a Hack. I always felt that a custom UI was something that made use of the game's built in functions with innovative scripting, and that a Hack was something that was only possible with the use of Third Party Software.
What about a UI that allows a player to move along a preset path that was previously traveled by that player. No Third Party software is used to achieve this. Would this be considered a Hack or an ingenious use of scripting?
Thanks for any input.

That's correct.

As long as the player is interacting with the game to make the movement possible, this is fine. If it involves third party software, then it's against the terms of service as I understand them.
Note that automated movement through scripting was specifically disabled a few patches ago, as it went against the designer's intent for UI scripting.
