I'm guessing this must be an addon issue. For some reason, my saved variables file takes a very very long time to save, and almost as long to load. It was 5mb - I disabled some addons (Auctioneer and Items Matrix in particular) and it dropped down to 1.3mb. It still takes several minutes(!) to save. At the same time, a friend has a saved variables file that's roughly 9mb, and it saves and loads very quickly.
What's the problem? I'm guessing its not size, and it didn't use to take but a fraction of the time, so I'm assuming it isn't my hardware. What would cause such a thing? I can /camp, tab out, and look at the WTF directory - every time I refresh the folder, the savedvariables file will be a few kb larger. What's making WoW write the file at a rate of, I'd estimate, 20kb/s?
Please help! This is making swapping characters a REAL pain.

Could you post a link to the file, too? Deeply nested tables might be slow to write... How much scripting memory are you using?

If you bundle up your Interface and WTF directories, I'll take a quick look when I'm at work on Monday.
