Q u o t e: Fixed a few loopholes where scripts could cast spells, use items, and command pets without user intervention.
Is this specifically targeted at the Servitude mod? Servitude is, imho, essential to playing a Warlock these days. All it does is increase the pet AI a bit. It actually makes the Felhunter a worthwhile pet. Before Servitude, I'd never see anyone use it, now I do all the time.
For those that don't know, Servitude adds a little AI to Warlock pets. For instance, the Felhunter has an ability called "Spell Lock" that works just like "Counterspell". You cast it on someone casting a spell and it disrupts them. By default, this can be set to "Auto-cast". Clearly, Blizzard meant this to be useable without user interaction. Unfortunately, the AI is so completely braindead that the Felhunter will simply immediately cast it on anyone he aggro's on. With the 30 second cooldown, the chance of a felhunter actually using the ability at the appropriate time is pretty much nil. Servitude changed it so that the Felhunter waits for "x begins to cast..." and then spell locks them.
Another example is the Imp. The Imp has a "Fire Shield" buff that it casts on other players. Again, it's an ability that already had an "Auto-cast", but a completely brain dead one that would only cast the three minute buff when the imp was set to attack. Additionally, it would cast it on everyone in the group. Servitude fixed that so that the Imp would keep fire shield up on the melee classes in your group.
Servitude is a great mod that simply made life as a Warlock much more enjoyable. No longer do I need to rapidly use Ctrl-# abilities on short notice or continually. My wrist is much happier for it. Additionally, it makes me feel like my demon is serving me, not me serving it.
I fully agree with removing the automatic use of items and spells, but my Pet is supposed to be a separate entity with it's own intelligence. I shouldn't have to micro-manage it's abilities, especially ones that Blizzard already flagged for auto-cast.

Q u o t e: If the AI guy comes back and says "working as intended", then it will be disappointing, but we'll live with it
Actually, he fixed a number of the issues for 1.6 and more for 1.7. I don't think the pet AI will ever be on par with Servitude, but at least it won't be completely useless for some spells. :)
FYI, the intention of the pet AI is to have the pets be about as smart as monsters. If you want to make them smarter, that's more about smart play style, and good timing in commanding your pet.
Q u o t e: I'll do my best to work within the limitations of the API, and the guidelines that Slouken is currently working on documenting
Actually the designers are writing them and they'll be published through the community managers. I'm just prodding them to get them done. :)
