Subject: PLEASE READ: Regarding the Cooldown Bug
   Hunters have recently been concerned that there is a bug going into the game in patch 1.5 that adds ranged weapon speed to the Aimed Shot, Arcane Shot, and Multi-Shot Hunter ability cool downs.

I received some clarification from the developers today, and...

This is false -- the cool down for Aimed Shot, Arcane Shot, and Multi-Shot is not increasing in patch 1.5 --- it will remain the same. The bug that adds weapon speed to the cool down of these abilities has been in the game since launch. The reason this bug remained hidden for so long is that the tool tip and client side cool down timer were not showing the increased cool down. An unrelated addition to 1.5 corrected the visible cool down timer on the client, and that's how this bug was discovered.

Please note: the current Hunter DPS will not decrease because of this bug! This bug has been active since day one, so Hunter DPS will remain the same. When this bug is fixed in an upcoming patch, Hunter DPS will actually increase.

It has not been working as intended since launch -- we did not state as such. The above post states that the bug has been there since launch, and we plan on fixing it as soon as feasibly possible.

So in less than 24 hours (after the flood of posts as to how this stink) we are told there is no bug. I am sorry, but I will always have a hard time believing anything that is stated in blue.


For the last time... it is a bug. It is not working as intended. It will be fixed.

Cay, you are either an idiot for believeing this nonsense from the developers, if one actually feed you this manure. Or, you are the worst liar I've ever encountered.

Bottom line is we are getting screwed by this NEW BUG, cool down times are going to be extended. It does not currently work this way on the live servers.

When conducting your tests, please remember that there is in fact a change between 1.4 and 1.5 -- the cooldown on the tooltip (and when you use the ability) now accurately reflects the added time, whereas before the hotkey and greyed-out-timer would reflect the INTENDED cooldown, but you were still unable to use the shot until the added cooldown finished. (An alternate -- or perhaps older -- way this worked, as given to me by the developers, is that the hotkey would become active and you could hit it, but the shot wouldn't actually register serverside until the full cooldown was done.) This is the change, to my understanding.

Please let me know -- in a constructive manner -- if this is not the case.
