Subject: Caydiem Appreciation Month!
Alright. I've been looking around the forums for more information to help me with my Hunter (My main) and I've seen a lot of people begging Caydiem for help and very few people thanking him as much as he should be thanked. He doesn't need to listen to us. So, I think it's time for all us Hunters to thank Caydiem for all he is doing. Feel free to describe why you're appreciative!

I am providing the devs with your feedback, not my own, actually. Any "perspective" or "bias" you may think I bring to it comes from your own posts. The only way I color it is to present it in a light in which the developers will sympathize.

Understand that, as I do not play a Hunter, it is all the more important that I read your feedback, particularly in areas that I am less familiar with (i.e. PvP). And I do. As I stated months ago, I don't have that personal experience, and I don't go to the developers saying, "Well, my level 2 Hunter on a PvE realm is fine so there's no problem!" or "My buddy the Hunter is overjoyed with his class -- don't change a thing!" Please, I ask that you give me a little more credit than that. What I bring to them is your feedback, your experiences.

To prove my point...

Months ago, when I was first soliciting Hunter feedback, the criticism that I didn't understand the class because I didn't play it as my primary character was rampant. Every other post spoke about how I was clueless. So I posted "The List" to show the community what I was taking to the developers, and surprise -- very few people had problems with it. There were some additions that I made later, but both those and the original post were derived from your input, not my own, and it is that list that the developers saw.

I suggest that you do not presume to know what perspective I use when speaking with the developers, since none of you attend those meetings. I use your perspective, with phrasing in a manner with which the designers can relate. That's all there is to it.

Q u o t e:
if you had our perspective i dont think the last few patches would have nerfed our mediocre dps even more.

now that you've passed on to the next class, we're left to wonder why we bothered.

your job isn't easy, but you aren't doing us any favors.. that's for sure.

You do realize that, while I do bring your concerns to the developers, they are under no obligation to do as you folks ask, correct? The designers must take the long view and balance the game based on thousands of factors. What the players want and what direction the game must take do not always coincide.

My goodness.

Please don't tell me that you don't play a hunter, and that all of the feedback you bring to the devs is from the massive pile of #@%$!ing, flaming and nonsense that is this forum?

How on earth do you wade through all the BS to determine what's actually a "valid" point to bring up? Or do you just walk into the dev meeting and say "Hallo! Rogue Suxxorz! Plz put STA/AGI on Dawn's Edge, thx!" and leave?

I love you Cay but please play a Hunter if you're going to represent us. :\

I do, but not as my main, and it never will be my main. There's another thread about this if you want the reasoning.

As for how I sift through it all, well... that's why they hired me. I do have decent judgement, and have been dissecting forum posts for years.

Caydiem let me make this as simple as to you as possible.

"Pick your battles"

Lets break this down

When going to talk to the dev's you must first
A) Have a good understanding of the hunter class and problems, Caydiem you could do this decently(but not as good as if you had a 60 hunter)
B) Understand what the devs vision of the hunter class is

Now when you talk to the dev's a good spokesman would see that even mentioning certain things to them, aka raising DPS, is futile. A good spokesman would see what problems to emphasize and stress. You can not do this with a 30 hunter.

You know the battles, but due to your experience you have no clue how to pick them.

Caydiem, the best thing you could do for hunters, is leave. Let someone who has a passion for hunters, someone with a 60 hunter, who will stick with us through thick and thin. Someone who knows what battles to fight for us.Someone who can sift through this forum of vocal minority and compare it to his in game play experience to come up with a proper report.

You did a exellent job of sifting through these forums and picking out what we were talking about. But is is totally obvious that the person who made that list has little to no hunter experience.

I think most of the community would disagree with you on that last point, and I say again -- you were not at the meeting. You do not know how I presented the feedback from the community. Do not assume that I do not know how to do my job, please. I know very well how to present information depending on who I'm presenting it to, and those skills were in use when I had my meeting on Hunters.

That said -- I'm what you have. No one on the Community Team plays a Hunter as their main. Instead of fighting against me, work with me.

As always, you can give feedback on the team's performance by sending an eMail to wowcmfeedback@blizzard.com.

Q u o t e:
Cay,

Can you please update the "What's up with Hunters..." post?

Specifically, the fact Dash auto-fire is broken.

Also, that pet abilites removed from the petbar are autocasting regardless or how we set them?

Or the bugs with the set bonuses on Beaststalker armor?

Seriously, we have issues not on the list, and we would like it updated.

Please.

As I have stated repeatedly -- when I have more information on issues, I will post them. Until that time, I have nothing to add to it, honestly.

Q u o t e:
I just gave you the information you need.

We tell you an issue, you put it in "inverified" and ask the devs.

If they say it's confirmed, it moves to the "confirmed" status.

If they disagree, it gets hit with the "working as intended" stamp, like the attack buff issue.

Since your Hunter is not level 30, you cannot experience the Dash problem, nor the Beaststalker issue. You will have to trust us, we don't make these up. Ask the Hunters you group with. I am SURE they'll explain our issues in greater depth.

One you CAN verify is the autofiring when removed. Simply train Cower to your pet, have it on manual mode on the pet bar, then drag it off. It will revert to autocasting.

Honestly, these are issues we face. Verified my many Hunters. I personally know 3 others, all incredibly guileless individuals (unlike myself), that can vouch for Dash and Cower on their souls.

No, you did not give me the information I need.

What I need in order to update that thread is verification from QA or the developers on the current status of the issues. That is not something I can get at 10:46PM tonight, and in fact may take a few days to achieve based on schedules and priorities.

I understand your desire to see it updated, truly, but it takes time to do so. Remember also that addressing Hunter issues is not the main portion of my job, and I myself have several things to attend to in any given day. I'll get it updated, but be patient.
