Subject: Cay, how's your hunter coming along?
I'm not really good with dates, but I believe it was about 2 months ago that you made a post saying that you were playing a Hunter alt from 1 to 60 to get an idea of how the class plays, and to better understand first hand what our issues are so you can better present them to the developers. At the time of the post I believe you said your character had not yet reached level 30 but you were plugging away at it slowly but surely.

I'm wondering how things are coming along level wise, as well as what are your thoughts first hand about the class and how it plays so far? Have you reached the dreaded end game yet? If so, are you suffering the same problems being mentioned constantly on these boards? For example, how long does it take for you to find a pickup party for end game raids?

Personally as you can see I'm about to hit the wall of about 55 where I'm going to see a huge drop in my hunters overall performance according to most hunters on this board. I'm a little nervous about this because I've been playing this game since about a week after launch (2 days before christmas) and I have a lot of time invested into this character. I really don't wanna see all that effort fly out the window.

If things start turning sour for me as I continue to level, it would be comforting to at least know that my representative with the developers knows what i'm going through. I understand why you cannot be more forthcoming with the upcoming changes with the class, but since you cannot bounce the developers idea's off of people who actually know this class inside and out (some of the people on these boards) and by all accounts the lone hunter developer is a crackhead (according to popular opinion on this board ;) ) It would be nice to know that we have someone there that can shoot down any bad ideas for our class before they get to far into the development process.

I doubt ill get a response from cay since this post will probably be 50 pages back by the time she even looks in here, although it would be great if she did respond. But I know I miss a lot of what gets posted here myself. Have there been any further update since then that might answer my questions?

Thanks!
Reality continues to ruin my life.

   This is a crosspost.

Still under 30.

I'm aware this is not the answer you want to hear. I'm sure you'd love to hear that I have a level 60 Hunter, that I now empathize with you and am there with you on all the issues because I've personally experienced them. I can't say that, and I'm being honest with you.

But I'd like to explain my Hunter relationship a little more, so you can understand that I'm not completely ignorant when it comes to the level 60 game. :)

Now, my guild is not a large guild, and it consists of people I've known for years and met in previous games. These are people who know me and are never afraid of offending me. They speak their minds, and they're very opinionated folks. Most of these people, players I consider good friends, decided to go Hunter when World of Warcraft was released.

Not a night goes by when I'm not grouped with a Hunter in some capacity. They have varying skill levels and certainly varying playstyles. I have witnessed why many raid leaders do not want Hunters in their raids. I have also witnessed why they're invaluable, and what a skilled Hunter can do. Nightly I am exposed to the praise and (largely) gripes of these dedicated Hunters, and I silently take it all in. I encourage them to tell me everything that concerns them. And there's a very good reason for this.

I know many of you subscribe to the mantra of "You must have a level 60 Hunter to represent us", but let's be honest with each other. Even if I did have a level 60 Hunter, it'd still be an alternate character. The character I play the most is my Druid; it's my main, and it's a necessary character in my guild. So unlike you, I don't experience the irritation of being unable to get a group with a character I've poured so much time into -- and I still wouldn't with a level 60 Hunter on my account. It would forever be an alt, a second choice, and that's not what you folks experience. Those characters are your mains! You've got so much invested into them! I understand that connection, and at the same time, I know very well that playing an alt just isn't the same, since you always have another option.

There are those that don't have another option, though, and those folks are the ones I've been listening to nightly. They don't have alternate characters past level 20. Their Hunter is it. That's what they play, and that's all there is to it -- the same as many of you. These folks are representative of your community, and I listen very closely to them.

"Why them and not us?" you may find yourself asking. Ah, but I do listen to you. The reason why I bring these fine folks up, however, is that I know them well. I know their quirks and their motivations. That's something that can't be conveyed well in a forum post, but over years of friendship, you get to know the meaning behind a phrase, even if it's seemingly innocuous. I take into account ALL feedback; I just bring this up to let you know I have a more intimate relationship with the class than you may believe at first.

And no, they don't know who I am. :P

Your right, go level.

With all due respect -- no.

I do still play my Hunter and level him from time to time, but I am not assigned to Hunters and am not obligated to level him in any regard. I have other parts of the game to focus on as well, as pertain to the main duties of my job, and that requires a high level character.

Am I still playing my Hunter? Yes. Do I still plan on levelling him to 60? Yes. Is that going to happen in a month? No.

We have no plans to start a Class Representative program, either as employees or from the community, so folks... what you have with me is what you get.

Cay, thank you for your response and honestly, it is very much appreciated and I think that most of us here reaslise that you are just trying to do you job as best as possible.

That being said and with all rescept (this is not a concern directed at you but those above you), dont we deserve a representitive that plays our class as thier main and can better understand our issues?

We pay the same per month as all other classes out there yet it feels as if the general interest in ours is lacking to the point where we cant have a dedicated representive. You say that there are no plans to start class representation, yet that is clearly already happening as you plainly states that your druid is your main and your hunter is merely an alt. How can we get equal representation as druids when that is the case?

Dawg

There are five members of the Community Team and nine classes. I understand your concerns, I do, but when it comes to speaking with the developers about the classes we must all share the load. I play the game -- we all do -- but there can only be five mains. As such, we share our experiences and use what resources we have available. As I explained, I do understand Hunter concerns better than you may think.
