Originally posted in the general forums (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?ForumName=wow-general&ThreadID=2474175). This is one of the first postings regarding the Test Server notes upon their disclosure. Posting it here so that Hunter's can see the addendums and new additions that have occurred since the original posting. I fear that little has changed.

I really wish you folks over at Blizzard would get your act together and stop spitting all over my class. A cursory glance at our forums (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.aspx?fn=wow-hunter) will tell you how disgusted we are.
How is that every patch we find ourselves further curbstombed into the sidewalk of suckage? Our class has real issues that go unaddressed while ridiculous abuses of the Hunter playerbase are wanton and reckless. No, I am not being overdramatic or exaggerating; you, the developers, are dismantling our class.
And to stave off the ignorant arses sure to flood into this thread, let me explain exactly what the hell it is I am referring to:
"Ranged attacks use the target's defense skill instead of target's level to determine chance to hit." (see: test server patch notes)
ADDENDUM: It appears the developers were testing to see "if the changes were too drastic" but a later post has indicated that they do not believe it to be the case. This means that this change is almost definately going into the Live Patch. This further means that Hunters, who were subject to an unreasonable and unwarranted DPS nerf in the previous patch are now once again being subjected to a DPS nerf which too is unreasonable and unwarranted.

the undocumented nerf to our Pet's DPS. Refer to these following images from a tester:
Test Server Pet DPS Nerf:

Live Server Current Pet DPS:
http://www.starbabie.com/images/KBnormal1.jpg
Accidental? Result of a bug? With Blizzard's stellar communication, its anybody's guess! Hell, with the lies/miscommunication nonsense we were fed last patch about a slew of nerfs and mistakes we received (undocumented I might add), I'd say this is par for the course. Or maybe, its all part of the Pet Aryanification™ plan, in which all of our pets get to equally suck.
ADDENDUM: Pet issue has been "confirmed" by Kalgan to be "unintentional." Whether that proves to be true or not come the Live Patch remains to be seen.

The new pet (see: test server notes) abilities were so poorly tested internally by Blizzard, that they bring forth the very pet runspeed bug that Hunters have been asking to have fixed for longer than five months. Yes folks, after a Pet uses either Dash or Dive, its runspeed will be "perma-snared" until it is dismissed and resummoned; inconveniencing the Hunter in time and money (food costs to offset happiness) loss.
ADDENDUM: Apparently this bug has been fixed internally and is in the hands of the QA team. Looks like this one may get fixed... we hope.

NEW ADDITION: This one I like to call "The Great Big Lie." Yes folks, for a prime example of how well Blizzard communicates with Hunters (and the paying populace in general), please direct your browsers to this thread: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-hunter&t=261321&p=1&tmp=1#post261321
Take note of this statement by our "advocate" Caydiem;
Q u o t e:
Issue: +Attack Power Buffs Do Not Give Ranged Attack Power
Last Updated: 4/12/05 1:04PM - clarification
Status: Buffs that do not explicitly state that they give Ranged Attack Power on the in-game tooltip do not, and this is intended. Items that give +Attack Power boost both melee and ranged Attack Power. This is intended. The developers are in discussions on ways to make this more clear to the player.
Why is this "The Great Big Lie?" Fact: Pre-nerf, Battle Shout positively, definately, certainly, did add its Attack Bonus to both Ranged Attack Power and Attack Power. After the "hotfix" (which was intended to quash a stacking glitch with Aspect of the Hawk and Battle Shout), Battle Shout no longer adds to Ranged Attack Power (prime example of Blizzard using a broadsword where a scalpel would be required).
This scenario is made all the more absurd by Caydiem stating the developers claim that Live server buffs (example: Battle Shout) never added to Ranged Attack Power in the first place. Proof of this absurd lie can be seen in this thread:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-hunter&t=261939&tmp=1#post261939
Q u o t e:
2) To the best of the developers' knowledge, the buffs and effects you cite -- Winterfall Firewater, Blessing of Might, Battle Shout -- never increased Ranged Attack Power and are not meant to.
Read that carefully: "never." I guess someone should clue them into their game then, eh? Battle Shout did in fact add to Ranged Attack Power, they did after all, hotfix Battle Shout. Winterfall Firewater also does in fact, add to Ranged Attack Power. To further add insult to injury, a Paladin replied to the Hunter thread saying this his Blessing of Might also affected Hunters in his party. Shining example of Blizzard not knowing a clue about the state of Hunters.

NEW ADDITION #2: I am dubbing this "The Great Big Joke." Proof-positive that Hunter is an absolutely misrepresented class within the Blizzard team; Caydiem makes this post;
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?FN=wow-hunter&T=256693&P=1
Here she requests parsed data about whether or not PvE encounters (monsters, etc.) can dodge/parry attacks on Live servers. Apparently, Blizzard couldn't figure out this simple test on their own. So did that "60 developer who plays a Hunter on a PvP server" simply poof his Hunter to 60 or what? Fortunately, the Hunter community responded and showed overwhelmingly that Blizzard is asleep at the wheel by provided numerous pictures and parses of Live server PvE encounters neither dodging nor parrying ranged attacks. The PvE foes on test do dodge/parry as well as deflect and miss (which has always occurred), which amounts to another unreasonable and unwarranted DPS nerf.
---
With regards to the first issue; Hunters on the test servers are already reporting that Warriors and Paladins (who often have greater than +100 in +Defense items) are running around practically invincible to their ranged attacks. They are reporting that Rogues apparently have "entered the Matrix" and dodge bullets/arrows like Neo. Does Blizzard even test this stuff internally? No, of course not. Seems to me that they just cook up some "zany" ideas that end up completely sucking and then take turns high-fiving each other on a job well broken. And if you were the poor foolish sod (like me!) who clicked on the Hunter class upon purchase filled with visions of archery and survival dancing around your gleeful head; you lost.
The second issue is a goddamned travesty. Y'know, I was once an eager Blizzard fan. I anticipated every release and saw the company as one that can do no wrong. I suppose it makes sense why World of Warcraft was responsible for strife within Blizzard (former Blizzard employees including the well known Bill Roper leaving the company); these guys must've seen your ineptitude coming a mile away. Is this a joke? Why are Hunters playing a class that's so far removed from every other classes purpose/vision/whatever that its not even fair to dub us as "still a beta class." Screw that, we are "still an alpha class."
We are tired of this nonsense. Do you truly expect us to endure slap-in-the-face after slap-in-the-face for months/years/who-the-hell-knows-how-long until you finally decide to begin implementing your "vision™" (and yet, wasn't EverQuest often discredited for its stubborness?) after finally realizing you destroyed my class?
Fix our class.
