Subject: Caydiem Confirms: Nerf Patch Finalized
   From http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?FN=wow-hunter&T=245056&P=1

Q u o t e:
Hetic... it's the weekend. The developers aren't here. I am, because my job revolves around the community and the forum, and Saturday's a busy day. While I would love to call a meeting this very instant, I don't think they would pick up the phone, heh.

Be advised that I DO take your concerns to the developers. In the meeting, I'd say a good third of the time was spent talking about DPS (keep in mind the meeting happened after this patch was finalized). I related the community's concerns on the subject. I am doing all I can for you, but you folks do need to understand... just because I bring your concerns to the developers does not mean that particular issue will absolutely be changed to fit what you desire.

You may think this a deficiency on my part, and I suppose I can't really prove that without taping the meetings (which I will not be doing, sorry). I am decent when it comes to debating, and I present your concerns in an assertive manner that, at the same time, is worded in a way to be more sympathetic to the developer's position so they can understand where you're coming from. I help them understand your position and your concerns on the class. That is my duty as your advocate. If this enacts change, all the better, but it isn't a requirement.

Q u o t e:
They do read the forums, yes.

I suppose I should explain "finalized" in that sense.

The developers are always working on content. When a patch approaches, there is a cut-off point -- once it's reached, no more content/changes go into the patch. The time is then spent testing it internally. It was at that stage -- when the content was already finalized -- that I had the meeting.

Appropriate passages highlighted.

So, it's official: we're screwed.
Blizzard - Don't do us anymore favors, OK?

   Incorrect.

The patch process is as follows:

1) Developers create content and fix issues during a certain period of time.

2) A date is set where no more content can be added to a certain patch.

3) Once that date is passed, the information is compiled into a patch and sent to Quality Assurance to test. Fixes and changes are made accordingly; if something is not working properly or is causing problems, it is resolved or removed.

4) After a certain period of testing, it is released to the Public Test Realm for testing by the community. Again, fixes and changes are made accordingly; if something is not working properly or is causing problems, it is resolved or removed.

5) Once the major issues are resolved, the patch is made available to live realms.

I had the meeting during phase 3 by that definition. Let's not put words in my mouth, doomsay, or troll, Vio. You've been exceedingly negative and not terribly constructive in your recent posts. I understand it's due to frustration, but that does not give you leave to violate policy.
