As a class, we were the last to be implemented and one of the buggiest from the start. It is generally accepted that warriors and hunters are the weakest class at the moment. And while warriors have been seeing vast improvements to their abilities, we hunters have seen 3 consecutive patches (1 hotfix) that have drastically nerfed almost all aspects of our class. We have been treated with disdain, false expectations, and outright lies, all blamed on miscommunication. I can deal with that as an internal problem as long as it is in a process of getting fixed internally, which I believe it is. However, what I cannot abide is getting the character on which i spent my hard earned money (and at this point multiple hundreds of dollars between the subscription and the initial game cost) only to have it nerfed to uselessness without any reasoning.
What I am asking you caydiem, is to give us the devs reasoning behind these nerfs. I don't care what is wrong with the class right now, or what might possibly maybe get changed, but won't, in the future. I want to know WHY! Why do the devs believe that hunter nerfs are needed? What is it that they know that we don't? If you tell us it is because they see that in the future we will become overly powerful and they felt the need to nerf us prior to that implementation, I, for one, would like to know that.
Be weary of not answering this or the manner in which you answer it, since many will base their faith in blizzard and their subscription renewal decision on this. If there is no reasoning behind the consecutive nerfs, then there truly is no point in playing a game with no goal or thought behind its development!

See my post in the thread asking me to resign. I stated there that I will try to get the philosophy behind the changes for you next week when the developers are again present.

Walt, they're asking for philosophy specifically on the most recent changes. I don't have that. No, the developers do not keep a tome that details their reasoning for everything. Even if they did write such down, inevitably they would be spending time explaining it further to everyone, which would take away from development time, etc.. I do understand what you're saying, but something like that would be impossible to maintain while still doing the job they were hired to perform.
I do have some general information on what the Hunter should be, yes, which I'll deliver to you along with the changes they have planned.

They do indeed have a long term goal for Hunters, actually. I'll go into it more at a later time -- I need to get a few more details before I can discuss the finer points with you -- but that is one of the things I plan to address in my writeup.
I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that they did not have such a plan.

The last thing you really want from me is more misinformation. I have notes, and I need to fill in those gaps and check with the developers on it. If I post something that isn't 100% true because of some misunderstanding on my part or a clarification I wasn't given, it will only make the situation worse.
So no, I am not going to post what I have on the subject until I bounce it back through the developers and make certain what I have is correct.
