Subject: Caydiem: What you should be doing today.
I'm not trying to undermine your position but everyone has issues with this patch where every single post on the front page of the hunter forums is talking about how messed up the next patch is. You need to:

1. Go on forums say you are having a "immediate" meeting with the devs...that means TODAY this hour

2. "Convince" the devs that what they did was wrong. I don't care if they say that they are doing this to balance tanks or its working as intended or they are planning to add somethign to hunters in the next patch. NO, THIS IS WRONG. As our hunter spokesperson this is your job. To talk to the devs and tell them they are royally screwing us even more than they already have. They can say all they want that they will be fixing hunters in the future but they shouldnt be doing stealth nerfs in the present that are hoped to be balanced in the future. Hunters already have a bad reputation as a poor dps class, making them EVEN WORSE will just acknowledge the stereotypes more. NERF-NERF-NERF-month goes by) FIX is not what ANY hunter wants to see. At the most if something is going to be nerfed another aspect has to be improved. Devs are making this a one way street and it is your job to get in there and voice this opinion and not to leave till you know the hunter community will be satisfied. That means at the very least getting that defence crap out. Yeah, it might seem nice having defence rating count against range because those tanks have worked hard to build that rating. But guess what, almost every damn piece of tank equipment has +10-20 defense on it when you get to level 60. WHile it is ONLY possible to get +14 gun skill and that is with dwarven racial ability. DO YOU SEE THE UNFAIRNESS!? And no the fix is not to have the devs make more +gun,bow,x-bow items because we all know that will take a year as they implement 2 or 3 items a patch. These nerfs just have to be removed there isnt a middle ground that will satisfy any hunter and you SHOULDNT be looking for one. That is what a hunter rep does.

3. Once you have completed 2, then come back on the forums and type it out. People have lost a lot of respect for you and i dont blame them. If you want to get any of it back you have to show that you can actually voice are wishes. And no that one post on pet custimization was not a good post and I personally hate what they are doing with hunters, as much as you might want to think it, pets are not the main complaint of hunters, its the dps, the bugs, the bad talent trees, and our poor abilities that hardly contribute to a group. The pet custimization was just a scapegoat in my opinion by you or the devs, it didnt address our main issues at all it just added a few things to an already worthless pet. I'm all happy pets will get more ability and blah blah blah but you know what? that shouldnt be first.

4. The main thing you have to realize Caydiem is you are our rep thus you should be sticking it to the devs. This isnt a fine road you should be walking trying to please us and the devs. That isnt what you are here for. Say our complaints and then say them again until they listen and until they fix them. If you are afraid the devs will see you in the wrong light then just mention that this is what they pay you far to get in their faces and yell for hunters.

That's all, thank you

Hetic... it's the weekend. The developers aren't here. I am, because my job revolves around the community and the forum, and Saturday's a busy day. While I would love to call a meeting this very instant, I don't think they would pick up the phone, heh.

Be advised that I DO take your concerns to the developers. In the meeting, I'd say a good third of the time was spent talking about DPS (keep in mind the meeting happened after this patch was finalized). I related the community's concerns on the subject. I am doing all I can for you, but you folks do need to understand... just because I bring your concerns to the developers does not mean that particular issue will absolutely be changed to fit what you desire.

You may think this a deficiency on my part, and I suppose I can't really prove that without taping the meetings (which I will not be doing, sorry). I am decent when it comes to debating, and I present your concerns in an assertive manner that, at the same time, is worded in a way to be more sympathetic to the developer's position so they can understand where you're coming from. I help them understand your position and your concerns on the class. That is my duty as your advocate. If this enacts change, all the better, but it isn't a requirement.

They do read the forums, yes.

I suppose I should explain "finalized" in that sense.

The developers are always working on content. When a patch approaches, there is a cut-off point -- once it's reached, no more content/changes go into the patch. The time is then spent testing it internally. It was at that stage -- when the content was already finalized -- that I had the meeting.
