Heh, yes, he's below 30 right now. Only just. ;)
As much as I'd love to have a level 60 Hunter right now, it is difficult for me to do my job and play the game with my plethora of characters to gain understanding of certain issues on my off-hours and have a bit of a life once in a blue moon. ;) And while I can make a level 60 Hunter on an internal server without much difficulty, it is not nearly the same as levelling up a character. When levelling up, you make different talent choices, etc. And in the case of a Hunter, you're making pet choices as well. Pets are such a large part of the class and levelling up with them is so integral that just "cheesing" on an internal realm wouldn't give me a proper understanding of the class.

Q u o t e: What have you tamed so far? I'm wondering if you have gone after any of the "unique" pets that you had to camp for? That itself is a big part of why I find Hunter fun. Those times when I actually felt like I was hunting a special animal. Those 8+ hour spawns in particular, always gave me a big sense of accomplishment when I finally did find them. Takk, Rake, Naraxis, never and probably now never will try camping Snarler.
My main pet is an owl, actually -- I haven't camped any of the major rare pets yet, but I might. When I'm doing this sort of class evaluation, I don't go for what I may know is the most "efficient" thing to do to progress. I'm using an owl of all beasts, and I'm strongly considering speccing in Survival in order to get a better idea on why it is so frowned upon. (I know academically, but playing it in game is a whole other matter. I did something similar with Feral Combat when I levelled my Druid.)

Q u o t e: Actually, that might be a rather educational experience, if you cheesed up a 60 hunter in the blue set, and ran north DM with the internal testers, or other CMs or something. It's all good and well to talk about how fast 60 mobs pop the pets when you try to offtank, but it's different actually watching what was 10 levels ago an excellent offtank get smacked. You lose the slow drop from PvE god to obscurity 50+, but you would get a bit of a feel for just how the class 'plays' at 60.
You really don't need to know anything more than at 30, other than how to freeze trap.
Try reading through:
http://www.tkasomething.com/hifaq.php
and putting aside a couple hours to run DM north, or something.
I'm a fast learner, but I still do not believe having a pre-made level 60 Hunter would allow me to understand the issues surrounding Hunters in end-game dungeons as my skill level with the class would not be up to par. :P I'm still learning, here.

Q u o t e: an Owl is your only pet? Wouldn't it be better to see what the 'fixes' did to all the other pets, too? Just out of curiosity, unless you're playing that Hunter exactly as a player would play it. (Just said 'play' three times in one sentence.)
I'm playing as a player, just as you all do. ;)

Kegoshot, with due respect, I do not need to camp Snarler to understand the frustration behind it. I may not empathize, but I do sympathize. I am no stranger to camping rare spawns and have lost much sleep over it in previous MMOGs. I also understand how hard and unbelievably frustrating it is to have something change on you after you worked so hard for it.
