If this idea takes off, I would love for this post to be stickied as a reference for all.

I was hoping we could all start on this new forum with a small post describing ourselves, so we may all become aquainted with each other. I think it would be a valuble resource to have if used properly. There is much advice to be given and recieved on this board for all of us, and I was hoping that with a little order we could easily see where we all differ in background from one another.
I have noticed in the last ten or so posts that I have read that people seem to spend most of their post explaining their background/position in their guild/the background of their guild. All of that text pushes me off track when reading a post about, say, class leaders. If we could consolidate posts about our backgrounds and the backgrounds of our guilds in one place, we could use it as a very valuble reference.
I propose this system:
-Just post whatever you feel should be said about yourself or your guild that may be useful to others reading your posts. This may include your progress, current size, type of leadership, etc..the list goes on.
-In your signature, list the post number of your post in an easily readable format (as I have -- GR:1 -- stands for Guild Relations : [Post number])
It would be really neat to know who I was learning from and how similar my guild situation was to that specific person when reading their advice or suggestion. So, I will start with my post and I hope others will continue the trend:
I am the guild leader of Aeon, which has about 180 accounts and is progressing in BWL (just a little behind the times). I have been playing this game since release and have been active in a raiding guild ever since June of last year. I decided to move on to establish a raiding guild with another friend of mine because of some unwanted drama in my past guild, which currently leads me to where I am now.
My guild has a very loosely structured hierchy--we have three leaders who, for the time being, have dwindled down to myself alone. My officers have just been elected based on how much each person participates in guild events and how much enthusiasm they show for progression.
We currently run two raids of MC and one of BWL with some random 20 man action. Our method of loot distrobution happens to be a bidding dkp system with a per-hour dkp gain. Our raids have recently been experiencing "burnt out" members, which is an issue I plan to be active about on these boards.
Our website was designed in PHPNUKE by one of my guild members and it can be located at http://www.aeon-guild.com. The design is still in progress and the site is fairly functional (just the imporatant stuff -- dkp, pictures, and forums for now).
Feel free to post any information you may find relevant to this forum! I hope this idea takes off, as I would love to learn more about all those I am taking advice from![ post edited by Akmal ]
