Subject: "Saved" quests?
San Jose Mercury news had something interesting to say about new quests in the expansion.

"Perhaps one thing that players will appreciate most is that you can save a particular quest midway through the process now and come back to it as much as a week later. In the past, you had to stay up all night or even longer to finish. This helps address the complaint about how addictive the game is and how turns gamers into WoW zombies. Now you can play in bite-sized segments and still be part of some very big and entertaining quests."

Did they simply mistranslate the saved instance of Kharazan, or is there something new that's going on?

Since it is a non-game related publication it is very possible it was either a misunderstanding or attempt to make the information more general for a possible non-gamer audience. I'm sure their meaning was smaller instances being on reset timers, and nothing to do with the questing system being changed.

Would've been cool though.

It is cool. It's the questing system we have right now. :)
