Subject: On forum etiquette and procedure
This post is meant to point out some logic in the general forum moderation that i find puzzling. Some gaping sounds that when left to be infected leave the forums ozzing with troll.

1.We are told not to make reposts on topics which already have a thread. This is understandable. Rarely however do you see a Blue or MVP response to a thread that has already been responded to. Most reposts are posted because they want clarification. Those that arent should and have been abruptly deleted/locked. (/clap mods) But please keep in mind that when you say something, it doesnt end the conversation, further clarification may be needed in order to prevent trolls.

2.We are told onver and over again that we should be making suggestions in the suggestion forums. Why would we when the suggestion forums are completely devoid of any kind of blue response? The Customer Service and general forum are the ones that gets the attention, occasionaly a class forum or the OT. We want our ideas to be heard, evaluated, or even shot down. This is why they are posted in the general forum, because we know youre here blue. If we knew you were looking at that forum, it might be posted in and the clutter here might be alleviated.

These quixotic conundrums can only be solved by cooperation between players and moderators. So in summation: Stop making repeat posts when your server goes down, multiple pages bring more attention than multiple threads, and post in the suggestion forums if you have an idea. If youre blue/mvp: give incentive to the players to make these changes.

that is all. flame away

I follow up in threads all the time. Heck, that's how I get trolled.

Even when we do follow up, many posters have the tendency to read the first blue reply, then post. They often skip the rest of the conversation.

Because of this, we make as complete a statement as possible and leave that for discussion. While responding to individuals can and does occur, it is not something that we can do all the time, either due to particular topics or sheer number of such requests.

We are legally bound in the case of suggestions. We can't comment in the suggestion forum. However, other players can, so it is a perfectly viable space to discuss suggestions. THe issue comes when people are looking for offical acknowledgement, which we can not provide.

P.S. - Etiquette, just for future reference ;)

But while you are legally bound to not respond to the suggestion forums...what about MVP's? are they bound to the same ball and chain?

I am not exactly sure. I'm guessing, but as they are not employees, I would have to say no.

Any MVP want to clarify?
