Are you tired of loosing to people simply because they have better gear then you?
Do you wish that your pickup could get organized and actually get some kills against that naxx geared group that is rampaging bgs simply because they have gear?
Well so do i.
Here is what i propose, i propose that blizzard MAKES PRESET GEAR FOR ALL CLASSES.
Also known as, when you join battlegrounds you get preset gear, what you have on outside of battlegrounds will NOT matter inside.
People should NOT have a advantage in battlegrounds simply because they raid, if they want to in world pvp fine, but at least put SKILL back into battlegrounds and make these "plows" win by doing more then just queueing up with people with gear.
P.s. I have a alliance warrior who is completely decked with 1200 attack power unbuffed, so dont tell me that im just a cryr who needs to learn to raid, this is a issue and needs to be solved.

We are currently planning a player matching system that we are hoping to see match games a bit better, and not have to completely reduce everyone's hard earned gear to a 'vanilla' PvP set.
I think it would be a disservice to some extent to completely remove everyone's personality, effort, and identification just to try to get things a little more even. We do understand the concerns though, and the matching system should help nudge people into more appropriate battles.[ post edited by Drysc ]

Details aren't available for what would be taken into account for matching as the system is still in development.
As far as a release of the system, it is not planned for before the release of the expansion, I think I can say that much at this time.

I believe they are tossing about some ideas to make this something that won't happen. Although, if you want to wear twill in battle, who are we to say no? ;)

I doubt that scenario will happen. Generally people that go as far as to organize a group are going to be viewed as more organized and thus should be left together as a group.
I know we aren't able to give many details right now and I know it's something people want most to allay some of the fears you may be having however, please trust that all of these things and more are in heavy consideration. Exact implementation is still in dicussion based on programming restrictions among other things.
We just don't feel comfortable giving you details as of yet since those details are still in the air. Once there is more that we can tell you, we will.

Good morning Pigeon. I am getting to know you better and better with every post you make. You are the glass is half-empty sort. I blame a difficult time as a small dwarfling lass and perhaps even some anger that you were never able to grow a beard. It's ok. I'm sure the dwarven men love you just the way you are.
That said, changes to the core of the game such as things that affect battlegrounds as they are now, will not require people to buy the expansion. However, the possibility of this system being added in at the same time as the expansion exists.
I know that takes away your reason for your self-righteous angst and I'm sorry. I'll try to post something soon that you can rail against ok? If you need a hug all you need to do is ask. I'm sure there are many here that would oblige a sweet little dwarf like you. You're just lucky I happen to like dwarves myself and like your name. ;)

All the top gear thy earned from PvP will only let them own outside BG's. Which would ge great to since it'll make world PvP more popular.
Still, some of the best games of Battle Grounds I have ever played have been on the PTR. The Horde and Alliance each win and lose based on how well they play as a team and not how well geared they are. It's a joy to play that way and alot more fun from both side. I mean is it really that much fun to steamroll the other side over and over? Is it fun to not have people willing to que because of this? How many times are you willing to be steamrolled and still que up? My limit is 3 times to get 1 turn in then I go do something else.
They could just make another group of BG's that are called "Even Stevens":) You can que for the regular one if you think you have what it takes or you can que for the vanilla one to have fun.
Bangzoom, I think you're pretty much on with your post. To me it seems being able to match up against people of like setup whether it's a group to group fight or a gear to gear fight, would mean that it is a higher skill based game. Players would need to exhibit a real sense of skill and teamwork in order to win and it would be less about who has what gear.
I too can see people's reasons for being upset at the possibility, but at the same time there are many PvPers that would prefer for things to come down to skill. Also, matching wouldn't mean that everyone has the same exact gear. Depending on how someone is specced and their own ability as well as their choice of gear can still play a part in things. It just won't be overbalancing against their competition.
